Team Rules
Varsity Lettering: Need to run in ONE varsity race during the season. Meet lineup will be decided by the previous race(injury/sectional/state exceptions).
Practice/meet attendance: You are part of a team. Practice and meet attendance is expected. If you miss a practice/meet and haven’t discussed this with a coach, we will follow the following protocol:
1st time-meet with your coach
2nd time-sit out the next meet
3rd time-possible team dismissal
Academic/Athletic code violations: We will deal with these on a case by case basis following MG policy for all sports.
Injuries: We want you to contact a coach as soon as possible regarding an injury. We will refer you to Anne Hockett, the MGHS trainer, with any major or lingering injuries.
Conduct: You are representing your fellow teammates, parents and MG when you are practicing or competing. Our expectations are that you will be a very positive representative and reflect well on your team and yourself. At a meet when you’re not racing, you are supporting your team on the course.

Parent Involvement
As coaches, we need your help and support and will be asking you to fill a number of roles that will support the development of this team. Examples will include: organizing/hosting team dinners prior to meets; preparing/distributing snacks and drinks on the day of meets; working with us on a team booster organization; and helping with transportation, when needed, if we are practicing off site. We will have signups at our 8/2 meetings as well as posting ways you might help on the website.
Your son or daughter is running a race and needs to prepare accordingly. Your participation should be as an encourager during and after the race. Typically right before and after a race isn’t usually the best time to interact with them for many reasons. We trust that you know your child and what type of support they need from you. We’re committed to working with you to make this an excellent experience for them.
Coaches
We are both very excited about the opportunity to work with such a strong group of young adults in what we feel is an excellent lifetime sport and fitness activity. You will find us very available to talk with you and can be reached easily through our emails which are and . When contacting us, we ask that you copy both of us. We look forward to getting to know you and your families!
