General description
The MonoMouse and ColourMouse are small, handheld, computer mouse shaped devices, which have either a black and white or colour in-built video camera, which you can link by a SCART connector to your TV set. When the mouse is connected and placed on a document or text, the TV display shows a magnified image of the document.
The MonoMouse and ColourMouse provide 16 times magnification when displayed on a 20 inch TV. The Zoom models offer greater flexibility and enable the magnification to be adjusted from 16 to 57 times.
Orientation
The Mouse has a halved pear shaped plastic body with a silver coloured top half and a black flat base. The flat surface has the video camera underneath set back in a square recess. The Mouse sits naturally in the palm of the hand with the combined camera video signal and cable going towards the TV.
The top half has a contrasting blue coloured on/off push button set in an oval-shaped recess, below where the palm of your hand will sit when using the mouse.
Standard MonoMouse/ColourMouse models
On the top of the mouse, towards the left side, is a round blue button. This is thecolour mode button. Press this button to change the colour mode from standard (black and white for MonoMouse and colour for the ColourMouse) to high contrast white text on black and again for high contrast black text on white. Useful if you have a high sensitivity to light.

Getting started
Connecting the MonoMouse/ColourMouse
- Connect the SCART Plug to a vacant SCART socket on your TV.
- Connect the Mouse power supply lead (the second cable out of the SCART Plug) to the cable from the low voltage AC/DC mains plug.
- Plug in the AC/DC Adaptor to the mains.
- Switch on your TV.
- Press the large blue button to activate the MonoMouse/ColourMouse.
- Your TV should automatically detect the signal from the MonoMouse or select the AV SCART input on your TV manually.
Returning to watch TV
- Press the large blue power button to switch the MonoMouse/ColourMouse off.
- Your TV should automatically detect the loss of signal from the MonoMouse/ColourMouse and return your TV to broadcasts. If your TV does not return to TV (you have a blue screen) press the AV channel button on your TV to change back to the antenna/satellite.
Using the product
For best operation the Mouse should be used flat on the surface of the text, image or document that is being viewed. Lifting the Mouse away from the surface will give a blurred image as the camera has a fixed focus.
