Overall Job Purpose / The Money Advice Service has a significant role to play in delivering money advice to consumers, either directly through its own digital and offline channels or indirectly by supporting others to improve their customer reach.
The SEO Manager will primarily be responsible for these key areas:
1)Increase customer acquisition through organic search – Develop and implement search engine optimisation strategies, including onsite and offsite optimisation to maximise search engine rankings and organic traffic to the website across desktop and mobile platforms.
2)Search market analysis – To carry out keyword analysis, market research and competitor research to understand the search market landscape on finance related topics and key players in the market. Provide reports on MAS’s role in the market along with other partner websites and advice providers – with key insights.
In addition,the role will include liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide consultancy, SEO solutions and to provide understanding of areas impacting online visibility and traffic performance.
Key Accountabilities /
- Monitor and review onsite technical issues and recommend fixes.
- Carry out keyword analysis to identify gaps, demand size and optimisation opportunities.
- Provide content optimisation recommendations to improve customer acquisition and customer engagement.
- Work closely with Digital Team members to give SEO guidance and to make sure SEO requirements are met and implemented.
- Be pro-active in supporting individuals and teams across the organisation with ongoing technical and strategic SEO consultancy.
- Measure and monitor the website’s link profile and all aspects of off-page SEO performance and activities.
- Deliver and present reports covering performance, metrics impacting performance and market trends.
- Developing search market reports to provide insights to MAS’s partners and stakeholders.
- Define customer focused KPI’s against organisation’s objectives and establish metric reporting and data analysis for innovation initiatives and content optimisation projects.
- Exceptional Digital Analytics skills and be able to use data to facilitate decision making processes, able to assess market volume and demand and able to produce forecasts for any new initiatives or plans.
- Responsible for supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
- Ability to critique and challenge strategic consultancy and operational deliveries produced by external suppliers.
Essential Requirements /
- 3 years’ minimum experience in SEO.
- Good technical understanding of website usability, structured data, XML sitemaps, website performance, crawl optimisation and front-end coding (HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
- Good technical understanding of internal and external links and its influence on SERP rankings.
- Skilled in a wide range of SEO tools, including SEMrush, Majestic SEO, AHREFs, DeepCrawl, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Adwords.
- Exceptional digital analytics skills.
- Good presentation skills, and be credible presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, inquisitive with a hands-on approach.
- Highly skilled in spreadsheet softwares including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Broader Digital Marketing experience preferred, but not essential.
