PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Today is Pledge Sunday for the Annual Partners in Charity Appeal in our parish. This vital annual appeal is a life-line of hope for thousands throughout our diocesan family. Our goal again this year is $44,000. Your gift, which enables us to bless many people in WorcesterCounty will make a major difference in the lives of many who look to us for hope. Please continue to pray to St. John Vianney, the patron of our appeal, that we may be inspired by his special love for families, the poor and the needy.

Legacy of Faith
The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Legacy of Faith Campaign to date is $374,329.86 468 families pledged/contributed $343,245.00 and an additional $31,084.86 has been given in memory of friends and loved ones or from the estates of deceased parishioners.We thank our parishioners who have fulfilled their initial pledges and committed to an additional donation.

THE LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR
Come and allow God to release the power of the Holy Spirit in you! The Life in the Spirit Seminar conducted by members of the Marian Community at Betania II Spiritual Life Center, 154 Summer St, Medway, begins Saturday, May 15th at 7:30 a.m. with registration and ends Sunday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. The $50.00 fee includes five (5) meals and refreshments. M.C.E.S. ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The M.C.E.S. Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the newly-opened Shining Rock Golf club in Northbridge. This annual tournament will be a special event this year as we honor the memory of Jay Carpenter. Please join us for a day of fun-filled golf, barbecue, and memories. SACRED HEART WOMEN’S CLUB
The next meeting will be held on April 20th in the Bell Tower Room. Rita Nealon, our guest speaker will talk about the Problem Pregnancy Program in Worcester The May 18th meeting in the Bell Tower Room will highlight a BABY SHOWER for the mothers of Problem Pregnancy. Installation of officers for 2010-2012 will also take place at this time followed by our Strawberry Festival.
Chairpersons for April are Ann Yaz and Mary Ann Sampson and chairpersons for May are Marie Tomaski and Lucille Ciaramicoli.

BABY SHOWER
FOR
PROBLEM PREGNANCY
The Sacred Heart Women’s Club is sponsoring a Baby Shower for the Problem Pregnancy Group in Worcester. At all Masses the weekends of May 1st and May 2nd and May 8th and May 9th baskets will be at the sanctuary steps. Items needed are diapers, onesies, wash cloths and towels, socks, toilet articles, sweater sets, crib sheets, 4-8 oz. bottles-, pacifiers, sleepers, clothing, diaper bags, and spring jackets. Handmade items are also welcomed. All items are for infants sizes 0-3 months or 6-9 months and may be placed in the baskets or given to any Women’s Club member to be brought to the meeting on May 18th.
PARENT’S NIGHT OUT
The next Parent’s Night OutFundraiser, open to all children 4+ will be held at the BELL TOWER ROOM on Saturday, April 24th from 4:00 – 8:30 p.m. Pasta, juices and desserts will be served. If your child does not like pasta please send something they like so that they can eat with the children. The children will be making crafts for Mother’s Day and we will also be going outside (weather permitting). The cost is $10 per child or $40 per family. Please register your child at
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
New members are always welcome to join us on the first Wednesday of each month (No meeting in July and August) in the Bell Tower Room at 6:00 p.m. If you are not able to join us at our gatherings you may call Mary Maffia at (508) 473-8041 or Marie Tomaski at (508) 478-3639 and we will pick up items. We have prayer shawls, prayer cloths for the troops and blankets for the children at the pediatric ward at MilfordRegionalHospital. We are presently making baby afghans for the babies from Worcesters Problem Pregnancy.
