Job Responsibilities
ØInstalling, configuring and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.
ØManaging Production, Development and Test Database in 24x7 environments.
ØRegularly checking ALERT logs to know types of Bottlenecks recorded during the day.
if any, and rising to counter them.
ØManaging Redo logs and Data files like adding, renaming and resizing.
ØManaging Controlfiles like adding, recreating and tracing to physical locations and
Tracing backup.
ØUser authentication logging to database through operating system valid user.
ØPerformed time based incomplete recovery to recover accidentally dropped tables.
ØScheduled backups using CRON and AT job scheduling.
ØTaking backup after database is opened with a reset logs option, since backups before
reset logs become void.
ØRegularly taking LOGICAL backups (Export and Import) incremental level as an
alternative option in case of physical backups failure.
ØRollback segment related errors like unable to extend rollback segment was corrected
properly.
ØWrote RMAN scripts for backups.
ØUsed Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring events such as tablespace full and
database up and down.
ØImplemented multiple buffer pools for efficient utilization of database buffer cache.
ØCustomized the SGA (two init.ora files for different types of requirements).
ØMonitored the different memory structures such as shared pool, data dictionary cache,
library cache, buffer cache.
ØImplemented UNDO tablespace feature of Oracle 9i database.
ØImplemented multiple Archivelog destinations to archive redo logs to support database recovery
