Job Title: / Marketing and Student Recruitment ManagerSalary: / £38, 467 - £41,158 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting)
Reports to: / Vice Principal – Student Services & Recruitment
Responsible for: / X8 staff
Hours of work: / Full time- 36 hours per week
Annual Leave: / 35 days, plus bank holidays
Overall Purpose
· Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop a communications and marketing strategy.
· Provide innovative and creative solutions to enhance the image, profile and reputation of the College and maximise student recruitment.
· Effectively engage with College stakeholders (e.g. prospective/ current students, parents, schools, local community) to ensure that they receive a positive experience with the College.
· Oversee the effective management of college activities in the following areas: marketing, events, student recruitment and student administration.
Main Responsibilities
1. Provide effective leadership and management for Marketing and Student Services team and assume full line management responsibility for assigned staff- including the management of performance, professional development and the maintenance of high standards.
2. Lead on the development and delivery of communication and marketing plans/strategies, working with the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.
3. To plan and implement the annual schedule and individual itineraries for student recruitment, enrolment, induction and progression activities, delivering agreed strategies and targets and ensuring students experience these events as high quality and connected processes, guiding them successfully and positively through their college experience.
4. To develop and implement the strategy for marketing and communications facilitating an excellent student experience from enquiry to progression.
5. Oversee and take responsibility for written communication produced with the department. Also, to produce any communication as required including the writing/editing of press releases, web content, social media communication and print materials as required
6. Produce written documents and or reports as required including reports on performance and student data.
7. Ensure that key external and internal events are managed to an exceptionally high standard and present a positive image of the College vision and strategic objectives. This includes Open Days, Parents’ Evenings and Student Awards Ceremonies.
8. To oversee the management of the administrative process with regards to maintenance and updating of student records and also the advice and guidance given to both students.
9. To work collaboratively with managers across the college as needed to ensure that:
· New opportunities to raise the College profile and meet business priorities are developed and managed effectively
· Current and prospective students receive a positive and excellent introduction and experience with the College and are well informed in order to make appropriate choices regarding their programmes of study and progression
· Student recruitment is managed to a high standard
· Student Voice is promoted and empowered, allowing constructive views to be used as a catalyst for change
10. To support SLT in the production of high quality market intelligence to inform the development of the curriculum offer. This includes the identification of current and future marketing trends and updates on local, regional and national developments.
11. To provide leadership for schools liaison promoting participation in events, improving recruitment from local schools and aiding efficient transitions from school to college.
12. To provide motivating leadership enabling the team to reflect, challenge and deliver an effective and efficient service. This includes a thorough analysis of the improvements required during key stages of the student journey and being bold in the implementation of enhancements.
13. To build existing networks and effectively manage new relationships with key stakeholders enhancing the College’s reputation and identification of innovative opportunities to exploit.
14. To develop a challenging strategy to support the College in achieving student enrolment targets through the insightful analysis of market trends and targeted recruitment activity.
15. Manage the service and effective business relationships with external suppliers
16. Any other duty or task as directed by senior management that is commensurate with the nature of the role, appropriate to the skills of the postholder and/or is assigned as a wider college management duty.

Other requirements:
The post holder will be expected to work outside of their normal hours from time to time to support key activities during the academic year. For example, enrolment, open evenings, parents’ evenings, etc. Advance notice will be given.
