Modeling & Simulation Hall of Fame

Nomination Process

Thank you for your interest in the National Center for Simulation (NCS) Modeling Simulation Hall of Fame (MSHF). I hope the following information will help you in nominating your candidate for enshrinement into the NCS MSHF.

The NCS MSHF was founded in March 2014 in Orlando, Florida and is on display in the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center. The principal objective of the NCS Hall of Fame is to honor and recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to advancements in modeling and simulation.

A nominee’s field or area of achievement is not limited only to defense. Significant contributions in other areas (e.g. medical/healthcare, technology, entertainment, transportation, education, homeland security, gaming, and other areas) will also be considered.

Eligibility requirements for submitting a nomination:

Anyone may submit an individual for consideration.

Nomination procedure:

To nominate an individual, please complete the attached forms. The forms, along with as much documentation of the nominee's accomplishments as possible, should be sent in hard copy directly to:

National Center for Simulation (NCS)

Attn: NCS Modeling & Simulation Hall of Fame

P.O. Box 781342

Orlando, FL, 32878

Also forward a digital copy of the nomination package to .

The candidate’s nomination package must be received on or before October 31st of each year. Any nomination package received after the deadline will be considered in the following year.

A subcommittee of the NCS Board of Directors will screen the nomination packages, prioritize selection recommendations and then forward those recommendations to the full NCS Board of Directors for final approval. From the pool of qualified nominees, the NCS Board of Directors will normally select 2 – 5 individuals for induction into the NCS Hall of Fame annually.
Helpful hints:

Induction into the NCS Hall of Fame is an extremely prestigious accomplishment. In order to make your nominee more competitive, please ensure your nomination package is as thorough, comprehensive, and documented as possible. This should include non-returnable detailed narrative articles and pictures of the nominee. As a minimum the following must be included in the nomination package (please provide NCS a printed and electronic copy):

1)  A detailed one page biography of the nominee. Use a minimum of 11pt. font
(larger if possible) and allow for a one inch margin on the left side, top and bottom of paper.

2)  A detailed one page summary of the nominee's achievements to include the
following (additional supporting information may be attached to the summary):

-  National and/or international awards, decorations, honor, etc.?

-  When and where did the nominee make his or her personal significant contributions?

-  How are the nominee' contributions being used today?

-  What distinguishes the nominee from others in the same field?

-  Any other facts that you feel are pertinent to your nominee's package?

Generally, the more complete, documented, and thorough the nomination package, the greater chance of the individual being selected. Please do not submit nomination packages in 3-ring binders, notebooks, etc.

The candidate’s nomination package must be received by NCS on or before October 31st of each year. Any nomination package received after the deadline will be considered the following year.

If you have any questions, feel free to contactNCS @ 407-384-6111. A request for nominations will be announced on September 1, 2014 and posted to the NCS website @ www.simulationinformation.com. A NCS Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Orange County Convention Center site during the first six months of each year. Exact date/time will be released closer to the event.
