The Presidents Message
Sorry we had to cancel/postpone the Valentine's Banquet but the weathermen had issued a winter storm watch and we had to decide a day ahead.Hope the postponement did not inconvenience anyone too much. Hopefully our second attempt will be successful.
Several Lions attended the mid-winter convention in Greensboro.It was fun but also
weather threatened.Seems some people had to take a truck to carry home their purchases from
the auction.Also our tail twister “held her own” with the object thrown at the Master of Ceremonies.See someone who attended for more details.
Now we must turn our focus to the White Cane Auction.Please be finding items to sell.
We are excited to have new life breathed into our Leo Club. More details to follow.

The Board
No meeting on February 3rd. We didn't show up. The predicted sleet, snow, and freezing rain didn't show up either.
LEO's Get CPR
LEO=(Leadership, Experience, Opportunity)
CPR=(Cool People Recover and Recruited)
The pulses were threadbare. The blood pressures faint. The respirations shallow. But Mr. Marc Schaub, Band Director, at DavieHigh School saw a need and an opportunity for high school students to serve in the community. About 20-30 students attended a meeting to revive interest in the LEO Club on February 8th. More news on February 17th, 2005.

- HWC drive ahead of their time last year at $5,3075.
- Friday Night Auction, $1,316.
- International Director Sherry states CampDogwood is "the best".
- CampDogwoodSensoryGarden bricks still for sale $50.
- Vision Van makes average 150 screenings a year. The van has visited 85 counties in North Carolina. (QUIZ: how many times in DavieCounty...?)
- Ten to fourteen people would have become sightless had they not been to the Vision Van screening.
- New dorm at CampDogwood almost complete (just some odds and ends left). 14 rooms and 28 beds. Just $200,000 more needed to pay for dorm. A club can finish a room for $2,000. Other contribution options available.
White Cane Drive: A Short History
In December of 1998, seven Lions took our Tail Twister pots and some brochures to Wal-Mart. They just stood there and colleted $300 for White Cane in three hours. Wow!
Quotes for Cogitation

"Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight."

- Rita Rudner
A Lions Prayer
“Our Father, we come to Thee with thankful hearts because of your unconditional love and faithfulness. In your abundant mercy, we ask that you continue to enable all Lions to offer a hand-UP to those around us who may be in need. In Jesus name we pray, amen.”
