MISY 3310 - Review for Exam 1

MISY 3310 –Information for Exam 2

Chapters 7-12

Overview of exam

  • This second exam will be a very similar format as the first exam
  • First, there will be 3 short answer questions worth approximately 20%. A short answer question is a multi-part question. As an example, “Identify and describe five components that are inside a computer” could be a short-answer question. The short answer questions are all from material covered in the powerpoints/videos.
  • Second, there will be 35 multiple choice questions, worth approximately 80%. The multiple choice questions for the exam are the same format as the quiz questions. All course material is fair game for the multiple choice questions, which includes any information from the chapters, from the videos, or from other files I post on the class website.
  • Just like the first exam, everyone will have different questions for the exam since Blackboard will randomly select both multiple choice and short answer questions for you from a large pool of questions.
  • For this exam, you’ll have a total of 60 minutes to complete the exam. As soon as you start the exam, Blackboard will start the 60 minute timeframe and will not let you answer any more questions once the time limit is reachedand any unanswered questions will receive a 0. Be sure you have a reliable Internet connection as the exam will stop precisely at 60 minutes and you will not be able to retake the exam. Pace yourself as you take the exam to be sure you complete every question within the timeframe.
  • Good luck!

These suggestions are very similar to what I suggested to prepare for Exam 1:

  • If you haven’t already done so, watch all the videos.
  • If you haven’t read the chapters yet, read each chapter.
  • Study in more depth the areas that you don’t think you understand well or rewatch sections of videos that you didn’t understand the first time.
  • The extra quiz that I’ve included in Blackboard has 10 questions from each chapter. You’ll see the correct answers for all the questions once you’ve finished the quiz. Take this quiz to both give you some idea of how long it takes you to answer multiple choice questions and to give you an idea of textbook material that may need more studying.
