STATE AWARDS PROGRAM

2007 DISTRICT SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

The District Employees Association would like to announce the Annual Soil and Water District Supervisor of the Year Award for 2007. The State Employees Association finds great pleasure in rewarding the Outstanding Supervisor of the Year in the State. This award goes to the candidate that best exemplifies the characteristics required by that position. Some of these characteristics include:

·  Having confidence and knowledge of all programs the District has available to the public.

·  Someone who understands the responsibilities of a supervisor and acts on them.

·  Actively pursues every avenue for additional funds.

·  Helps develop workable long-range objectives and goals.

·  Is willing to commit the time necessary to get the job done.

·  Is a good example and cooperator for the District in his own conservation practices.

·  Represents the people that elected him/her to that position.

·  Stays informed of local, state and national legislation related to soil, water and related resources.

·  Has workable knowledge of the land and water conditions of the District and the practices required to conserve and develop its natural resources.

·  Supports and participates in the programs of the Commission and is an active member of the Missouri Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

To nominate one of your Supervisors or a Supervisor you know of that is deserving of this honor, please write a brief essay (1 page or less) containing why they should be considered for this award. This essay should contain their name, position and the district they are from.

Nominations are due by October 12, 2007. Nominations received after this date will not be accepted, unless post marked by that date. Please mail your nominations to:
