Missouri 2014 USSF Referee Re-registration Instructions

All existing USSF Referees, regardless of grade, must first re-register on-line for 2014with USSF. All re-registration fees are collected ONLY through USSF, they will not be collected at the clinic. If you can’t re-register and pay online,contact your DRA. If it’s been more than 3 years since you last registered (last registered in 2010 or before), per USSF, you will be required to retake the entire entry clinic before you can again register. Regardless of your grade, you must take your re-certification exam on-line before attending a re-certification clinic. Re-certification exam WILL NOT be given at the clinic venue. Detailed instructions for the online testing are posted on mrdp.org.

You also need to go to pay onlineto complete a background check as a refereein order to work affiliated MYSA youth games. If you already have a profile in gotsoccer, use it. Otherwise you must create a new profile. To do that, detailed instructions are posted on the front page at mrdp.org. If you are already an active referee in the gotsoccer system you may have already completed this procedure, but remember you must do it annually. To summarize the steps for re-registration;

Step 1 - Re-register online and pay your 2014 fees online with USSF at

Step 2 - Pass the required online re-certification testing

Step 3 - Attend a re-certification clinic with proof of completing steps 1 and 2 and get

your 2014 badge.

Step 4 - Complete your background check through for youth games

For existing Grades 7, 6 and 5, also;

Step 5 - Pass your required maintenance assessment as required and submit proof to your DRA.

Step 6 - Complete the optional Interval Testing, or pass the Cooper testing. Proof will be required by the DRA.

For all grades, if any of steps 1, 2 or 3 are not completed, your record will not be released at USSF and you cannot be assigned games if not properly registered. If any grade 7, 6 or 5 fails to also complete steps 5 & 6, on or after January 1, 2014 they may be released as a grade 8, until they do meet steps 5 & 6. In such a case, they may have to pay a midyear upgrade fee to USSF of $10.00 to be restored to their previous grade.

If step 4 is not completed by any grade, youth games assignors may not assign you to games.

Before your re-registration can be approved and released at USSF, you must also complete all other state requirements for your grade as a referee. Annual renewal requirements may be found in the current USSF Referee Administrative Handbook. They are strictly enforced in Mo.

ALL MISSOURI USSF REFEREES, REGARDLESS OF GRADE, MUST ATTEND A RE-CERTIFICATION CLINIC IN PERSON, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THIER GRADE, BEFORE THEIR RECORD CAN BE RELEASED AT USSF. THIS INCLUDES EMERITUS REFEREES.

There are no exceptions to this. If you want to be registered, get your badge and receive the benefits of being an active USSF referee registered in Missouri for 2014, you must attend and pass a re-certification clinic. IN ADDITION, if you are a grade 7, 6, 5 or Emeritus referee, you must meet the other requirements for your grade. Each referee holding grade 7, 6 or 5 must have one passing annual maintenance assessment at the appropriate level, and pass the Missouri SRC approved physical testing requirements per the USSF Administrative Handbook. All Emeritus referees must also re-meet all the same requirements of grade 7, 6’s or 5’s if they want to work games at that level in Missouri. If you are going to be assigned games at that level, you must meet the same requirements as the active referees at that level. Failure to meet all the requirements for a grade will result in you not being registered, or being registered as a grade 8 until you do meet the requirements. In that case, there is a $10 mid year upgrade fee from USSF to go back up to your old grade within the same year. If you do not return to the previous grade within that same registration year, your next annual re-registration must start again at grade 8.

Grade’s 7, 6, 5, and Emeritus should submit copies of the passing feedback form from their assessment to their DRA at the recertification clinic. Their DRA should also have information from the approved Instructor that conducted their required annual physical testing. For 2014 physical testing in Missouri, the USSF National Interval Testing is mandatory. There will be one (1) such FREE testing session conducted in each of the four districts during the registration period. Any grade 7, 6 or 5 passing it has met their physical testing requirements. Any grade 8 wishing to upgrade to 7 must pass it. Any referee that fails it, or is unable to attend, may take or retake it in another district to meet the requirements for 2014 ONLY. The cooper test will no longer be accepted for re-registrations in Missouri beginning in 2014. DRAs are the only recognized authority that can submit a referee re-registration to the State to be submitted to the USSF. Once the referee has met all requirements, he/she will be eligible to receive their badge from the DRA directly. This includes receiving it while attending a recertification clinic provided that proof of completed requirements is provided.
