Participation

Contestantmustbebetweentheagesof13and17 years of age by June 1, 2018

Thereisa$100.00,non-­‐refundable,entryfeetoparticipate. Checks made payable to Jackson Teen Pageant.

Contestant can not have placed (TOP 3 ) in any other JACKSON Michigan based pageant in the last 3 months, prior to application being due. Application due Feb 1st 2018.

Applications will be accepted in the order received. ONLY accepting first 10 applications. Director has the right to deny any application.

Candidatemustagreetoattendallscheduledandunscheduledrehearsals.Exceptionscanbemadewiththeexecutivedirectorand/ortheassistantdirectorforalreadyplannedvacations,workschedulesorschoolfunctions.Exceptionsmustbemadetwoweeksinadvance.Intheeventofillness,youmustcontactthedirectororassistantdirectoratleastonehourpriortothescheduledrehearsaltime.

Candidateagreestoattendallscheduledandunscheduledpersonalappearances.Exceptionscanbemadewiththeexecutivedirectorand/ortheassistantdirectorforalreadyplannedvacations,workschedulesorschoolfunctions.Exceptionsmustbemadetwoweeksinadvance.Intheeventofillness,youmustcontactthedirectororassistantdirectoratleastonehourpriortothescheduledappearancetime.

Candidatemustcleartheircalendarforpageantweek(theweekbeforethepageant),aswellasparticipateinRoseQueen’spageantasrequested.

Candidatesunderstandthattheyarenotallowedtocompeteinanyotherpageantprogramoncetheyhavebeenchosentorepresenttheircommunity.(Fromapplication date to pageant date)

Thewinnerofthecompetitionshallbedesignated“MissJacksonCountyTeen USA2018,andshallbeentitledtoholdthattitleuntilhersuccessorisnamedatthecompetitioninAugust2019.Duringthis period(serviceyear)thedutiesofMissJacksonCountyTeen USA2018,mayincludetravelandparticipationinpersonalappearancesthroughoutthestate.Theseactivitiesaredesigned,scheduled,arrangedandsupervisedbytheMissJacksonCountyRoseQueenOrganization,MissJacksonCountyTeen OrganizationandFestivalinordertoreflectthevaluesandstandardsoftheprogramandtoenhanceitsvisibilitytomaintainitsbroadpublicacceptance.Allpublicappearancesmustbechaperoned. The newly crowned Teen, along with her parents and or legal guardian, acknowledge that the Teen Queen will sign a QUEEN contract that is different from this contract.

Thewinnerofthecompetitionwillabidebythefollowingpersonalcharacteristics.

Gender: FemaleandalwayshasbeenFemale

MaritalStatus:Notnowandhaveneverbeenmarried,norhadamarriageannulled.

Parentalstatus:Notnowpregnant,haveneverbeenpregnant;notanadoptiveparentofanychildnorbecometheadoptiveparentofanychildduringmyyearofservice.

GoodCharacter:Mustbeofgoodmoralcharacterandhavenotbeeninvolvedatanytimeinanyactofmoralturpitudeorbehaviorthatis,orcouldbeperceivedbytheMissJacksonCountyTeenOrganizationascontrarytoitelementsasdescribedearlier.

SocialMedia: Agreestoconductthemselveswithagoodmoralcharacterwhileusinganymeansofsocialmedia,including,butnotlimitedto,Facebook,Twitter,Vine,Instagram,andSnapChat.Thisincludespictures.

CriminalRecord:Notbeencharged with multipleminororpetty offensesin the lasttwenty-­‐fourmonths.Mustneverhavebeenconvictedofanycriminaloffensesandtherearenocriminalchargespresentlypendingagainstyou.ContestantunderstandsthatshemaymakeanappealtotheJacksonCountyRoseFestivalexecutiveboardifacriminaloffense/chargeinherstateareconsideredminororpettyoffensesinanotherstate.

PriorConduct:NeverknowinglyorunknowinglyperformedanyactorengageinanyactivityoremploymentthattheMissJacksonCountyTeenOrganizationcouldcharacterizeasdishonest,immoral,lewdorindecent.

Heath: Contestantmustingoodhealthandcan,tothebestofherknowledgeparticipatefullyinany andallprogramactivities. AnycurrentmedicalconditionsordisabilitieswillnotimpedeherabilitytoparticipateandcompeteinallactivitiesoftheMissJacksonTeencompetitions;completeheryearofserviceorfulfillherobligationsunderthisagreement;orrequiresunreasonableorexceptional assistanceasdeterminedsolelybytheMissJacksonCountyTeenOrganization.AnyaccommodationsapprovedbytheMissJacksonCountyTeenOrganizationwillbehersoleresponsibility,includingbutnotlimitedtofinancial;norshouldsuchaccommodationcreateabenefitoradvantagenotaffordedtoallcontestants.UpontherequestoftheMissJacksonCountyTeenOrganizationshewillprovideorcauseherhealthcareprovidertoprovideMissJacksonCountyTeenwithalloraportionofherhealthcarerecordsasnecessarytoverifytheaccuracyofthisrepresentation.

SubstanceAbuse: Donotuseorconsumeanyillegalorcontrolledsubstancesotherthanthoseobtainedpursuanttoavalidprescriptionandtakenaccordingtothedirectionsofthelicensedhealthcareprofessional.Willnotabusetheuseofalcohol,prescriptiondrugsorotherdangeroussubstances.

Ifcandidateischosentobethe2018Teen Queen ,shehastheoptiontocompeteinthe2019MissMichigan TEENUSApageantthefollowingSeptember.Ifshechoosesnottocompete,thefirstrunnerupmaycompeteinherplace.

Scholarship/Prizes

OncetheMissJacksonCountyTeen2018 iscrowned,allscholarshipsandprizeswillbepaidoutwithintwoweeks,withtheexceptionofthenewlycrownedwinner’swardrobeallowance.

IFSELECTEDASMISSJACKSONCOUNTYTEENUSA2018,WINNERAGREESTONOTHOLDANYOTHERJACKSONCOUNTYPAGEANTTITLENOTAFFILIATEDWITHTHEJACKSONCOUNTYROSEFESTIVALFOR12MONTHSAFTERSHERELINQUISHESHERTITLEASMISSJACKSONCOUNTYTEENUSA2018.

IFWINNERVIOLATESTHISCLAUSE,SHEWILLBERESPONSIBLETOPAYBACKALLAMOUNTSAWARDEDTOHER,ASWELLASANYOTHERCOSTINCURREDASARESULTOFHERVIOLATINGTHISAGREEMENT.

IfthenewlycrownedMissJacksonCountyTeen2018doesnotfulfillherdutiesorneedstoberemovedfromherposition,basedonbehaviordeemedinappropriatebytheExecutiveDirectorand/ortheJacksonCountyRoseFestivalBoardofDirectors,hertitlewillbetakenawayandallprizesawardedmustbepaidbackwithin30daysofhertitlebeingrelinquished.

AlldecisionsmadebytheMissJacksonCountyTeenPageantandtheJacksonCountyRoseFestivalBoardarefinal. There is no appeal process.
