Mississippi REALTOR® Hall of Fame
Established 1994
The Mississippi REALTOR® Hall of Fame honors Mississippi REALTORS® who have made an extraordinary and distinguished contribution to the real estate industry in Mississippi over a period of at least 20 years. Hall of Fame induction is MAR’s highest honor.
Method of Selection
1. Nomination must be by a member or local board of the Association on a standard form provided by the Mississippi Association of REALTORS®. Nominations are due to MAR no later than September 2, 2016. Lobbying for the nominee by his or her local board or any individual is improper and may disqualify the nominee, at the discretion of the committee.
2. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will consist of the last five members inducted into the Hall of Fame who are able to serve. The MAR President shall appoint a Chairman of the Committee from the group.
3. Using the criteria below as a guideline, selection into the Hall of Fame will be by majority agreement of those members of the committee present at the selection meeting.
Criteria for Selection
1. Hall of Fame honorees have made an extraordinary and distinguished contribution to the real estate industry in Mississippi during a period of at least 20 years of continuous service as a member of the Mississippi Association of REALTORS®.
2. Nominee may be a living or deceased member of the Association.
3. Nominee should demonstrate:
a. Significant local board leadership service (i.e. long-term committee and/or board service,
participation in local meetings/events and advocacy efforts)
b. Significant service on the state level (i.e. long-term committee and/or board service,
frequent attendance at meetings and conferences, participation in advocacy efforts)
Consideration is also given to service with the National Association of REALTORS®
and community service and leadership.
4. No more than three inductees may be selected each year.

Nomination packet must be received by MAR no later than Friday, September 2, 2016, and must include the following in order to be considered by the Selection Committee:
1. Completed nomination form. (Attach typewritten responses to items 1- 8; attachments must follow format of this form. Any supporting documents--news articles, etc.--should be attached to the back of the nomination form.)
2. Photo of nominee (The photo is a required element of the application. E-mail digital photos to or mail a scannable professionally printed hard copy).
