Dear ICM Relatives, Friends, and ICM School Alumnae,
Greetings of Peace!
Come 2010, the ICM Sisters (Missionary Sisters of the ImmaculateHeart of Mary) are 100 years in the Philippines. The ICM Sisters are very much involved in various ministries and projects mostly in uplifting the lives of the marginalized and the poor. This calls for jubilation and a deep sense of mission and a celebration of their 100 years with the theme “Fire and Grace”, already started in June 2009.
The Centennial was opened with a lighting of the Torch in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur where our Mother Foundress, Mother Marie Louise de Meester first set foot in the Philippines. The torch is now passing on from one community to anotherin La Union, Baguio, Mountain Province, Cebu, Iloilo, Surigao, Lanao and the NCR. As part of this centennial celebration, in Manila, there will be a family day gathering of all the ICM Sisters and our relatives on October 18, 2009, Sunday, at St. Theresa’s College, Quezon City. To keep the fire burning, there will be other celebrations to mark the special event. The climaxis on the 10th October 2010 with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration followed by a reception and Programme that will highlight the 100 years of ICM presence and impact in the Philippines.
