Miss Central Scholarship Pageant

“A Knight to Shine”

  • The Miss Central Scholarship Pageant is 7:30 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Central Gwinnett High School Theatre.
  • Contestant Information sheets and $50 Entry Fee are due Friday, December 13, 2013.

Please make checks payable to Central Gwinnett High School PTSA.

  • Contestant Bio due Friday, January 24, 2014. Bio must be typed.
  • Each contestant must sell one business card ad for $25or three personal ads for $30.
  • Contestants not selling an ad will be required topay the $25 add fee.
  • Ads are due Friday, January 24, 2014.
  • All contestants will model evening gowns. Evening gowns must be approved by PTSA board before February 15, 2014. Please make sure dress is age appropriate and in good taste for a school event. Please no tea length dresses.
  • T-shirts will be given to each contestant at the Sunday, January 19th pageant workshop.

Be sure to put your t-shirt size on your information sheet.

  • Flowers will be sold in lobby day of pageant. Please pre-order flowers for your contestant. Only a limited number of bouquets will be available the day of pageant. (See pre-order form)
  • The 2014 Miss Central/Junior/Sophomore/Freshman will ride in the Homecoming Parade in the fall. The winners may also be asked to participate at future community events.
  • Pre-order Pageant tickets for $5. Admission at door will be $8 for adults and $5 for students.

Pageant Dress Codes:

  • All contestants will model evening gowns. Evening gowns must be approved by PTSA board before January 15, 2014. Please make sure dress is age appropriate and in good taste for a school event. Please no tea length dresses.
  • No Dress should expose any part of the girl’s abdomen or be cut too low in the back.
  • The PTSA and Central Administration reserve the right to disqualify any contestant for inappropriate clothing the night of the Pageant.
  • If you have any questions about the appropriateness of your dress, a good rule to think about is….if you are questioning its appropriateness then it is probably inappropriate.Please do not buy anything that can not be returned if you are unsure. Be sure to have it approved before all sales are final purchases if there are ANY doubts. This must be done by January 15.Feel free to send pictures from the dressing room if you need to (front and back).

Pageant Workshops:

  • There will be two pageant workshops.
  • The first workshop is 5 pm, Thursday, January 23, 2014.
  • Dates and times for the second workshop will be announced later.
  • Only contestants will be permitted at the Pageant Workshops.

Contestant Interviews:

  • Saturday, February 15 beginning at 10 am.
  • All contestants will be assigned an interview time.

Dress Rehearsal:

  • Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Central Gwinnett High School Theatre.
  • Only contestants will be permitted at the dress rehearsals.

Day of Pageant:

  • There will be a contestants’ entrance marked with a sign at the back of the theatre building.
  • Only contestants will be permitted backstage during the pageant. Volunteers will be backstage to make sure your contestant looks her very best!

Pictures:

  • Magic Moment Photography will take Head Shots on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 5pm.
  • The Contestant Head shots will be used in the Pageant Program.
  • The Contestant Head shots will be posted in the school for the People’s Choice Awards.
  • These Magic Moment photos will be the only ones accept for the program and school posters.
  • The Contestant Head shots will be able for purchase.
  • Pictures will be taken during the pageant. Payment envelopes will be given to contestants at her interview.

Miss Congeniality

  • Contestants will vote for Miss Congeniality during rehearsal.
  • Winner for each grade level will be announced at the pageant.
  • Winners will receive a trophy.

People's Choice Award

  • People’s Choice award for each grade level.
  • Votes can be castduringlunch the week of February 17-21 as well as at the pageant.
  • Votes cost 50 cents at school and $1 at pageant. Vote as many times as you like!
  • Winners for each grade level will be announced at pageant
  • Winners will receive a trophy.

Ad/Sponsor Award

  • Contestant selling most ads (in dollars) will receive $100. (See ad form).

Miss Photogenic

  • Photo entries due on or before Friday, February 21, 2014.
  • Registration fee is $10 (See Miss Photogenic entry form). Checks should be made payable to Central Gwinnett High School PTSA.
  • Please put your first and last name and gradeon back your photo.
  • Entry Form, Photo Entry & Registration fee must be turned in together.
  • Winner for each grade level will be announced at the pageant.
  • Winners will receive a trophy.
