WORKSHOP MINUTES, WEEK OF AUGUST 14, 2017

The Board of Trustees met on Monday, August 14 2017, at the Butler Township Government Center, 3780 Little York Road, Dayton, Ohio, at 5:00PM for a Workshop Session to transact the business of the township.

Joseph Flanagan, President, called the meeting to order.

Trustee Ken Betz was excused from the meeting.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

A motion was made by Michael Lang to recess into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters in the Fire Department, as submitted, with Joseph Flanagan seconding and approving the motion.

Erika Vogel called the roll for a vote: Michael Lang – Yes, Joseph Flanagan – Yes. Motion was approved, 2-0.

Michael Lang made a motion for approval to reconvene into Regular Session at 5:35PM, with Joseph Flanagan seconding and approving the motion.

Erika Vogel called the roll for a vote: Michael Lang – Yes, Joseph Flanagan – Yes. Motion was approved, 2-0.

There was no action taken as a result of the Executive Session.

DISCUSSION TOPICS

Government Center Lobby Reconfiguration

Township Administrator, Erika Vogel recommended that they move forward for the renovation of the front lobby and solicit requests for qualifications from architects to begin the design process as soon as possible.

Michael Lang made a motion to authorize the Township Administrator to move forward with a RFQ for renovation of the front lobby, as submitted, with Joseph Flanagan seconding and approving the motion.

Mark Adams called the roll for a vote: Michael Lang – Yes, Joseph Flanagan – Yes. Motion was approved, 2-0.

Township Administrator, Erika Vogel updated the board on the liquor license issues for the upcoming Bicentennial event in October. There was a brief discussion on who would obtain the liquor license and if volunteers would be needed to sale the alcohol. She also noted that the entertainment has been finalized for the event.

Michael Lang made a motion for approval to adjourn the meeting at 5:46PM, with Joseph Flanagan seconding and approving the motion.
