MCR Discussion items:

MCR #26 – Certificates/Certifications

·  Updated information for review and comments was sent on 10/21

·  BOR Policy 2.23 approved by BOR in August

·  Next steps – to discuss implementation.

·  Dr. Turchen has not been available to discuss the remaining questions – deferred to Dec 2 MOCC meeting

·  Previous notice from Dr. Turchen that implementation is effective Spring 2006.

MCR #27 – Coding for Multiple Majors/Degrees, Simultaneous Degrees, Additional Degrees

·  Final MCR 27 as approved by AAC is attached.

·  Discussion /Questions

·  This will be forwarded to the SDA for the writing of procedures.

MCR #28 – Enrollment Reporting

·  Discussed by AAC at their November 10 meeting.

·  MCR 28 is attached with MOCC changes in green and AAC questions in red.

·  An email exchange “Turchen/Shekleton” is also attached

·  Discussion and reaction to changes recommended by AAC.

MCR #30 - Sharing Residual ACT Scores

·  Draft of final recommendation

·  Residual ACT Procedures review

·  ACT – National ACT scores are to be recorded into student record. See attached response.

MCR #31 – SD Technical Institutes Program to Program Implementation Guidelines

·  The MCR 31 procedural guidelines were discussed at the November 10 AAC. Minor changes were recommended and will be incorporated into the final document which will be forwarded to MOCC soon.

·  Upon approval by AAC of the proposed Program to Program Procedural Guidelines coding will need to occur for students enrolled Fall 2005

·  Carla has provided Ranny with a list of all students who transferred to Regental universities from LATI, WDTI, and MTI for Fall 2005. Ranny will work with the Registrars to identify and code students in approved program to program agreements for Fall 2005.

·  The December BOR will require the number of students enrolled in program to program agreements for Fall 2005.

MCR #32 – SDBOR Student email Policy

·  Draft MCR

Future MCR Item(s):

·  MCR #33 – Coordination scheduling of the calendar on ADPA, catalog on Programs and the catalog on Degree Audits.

Ranny will draft proposal for recommending coordination procedures after MCR 26 is

finalized.

·  Is a student who applies to SD who has only attended a non-accredited post secondary institution after high school graduation coded as a first-time freshman or a transfer?

Discussion items:

1) System Academic Dates and System Processing Calendar - Ranny will maintain

a) An updated calendar will be posted on November 21.

b) Please check the calendar for accuracy and report corrections to me.

c) May Academic Calendar – From Dr. Turchen: I will be doing the COPS item by the end of this week. The AAC recommendation is to expand summer term but with controls. I'll send you the item as soon as I can get it done.

d) RYAT for 2008SP - is being verified, an email has been sent to Dr. Turchen (11/16) requesting determination of correct start date.

2)  Course sections (zero credit trackingcourse sections)to be graded with the new "NG" grade - will be discussed at the October 18-19 AAC meeting (Using an instructional method of "Q" fortracking courses will be discussed). After the AAC decision is reached the rule for the "NG" grade will be revisited prior to Fall 2005 grading – From Dr. Turchen: We have not been able to get to this as it has been tied to an overall discussion of Instructional Methods. We might begin the discussion in December but I doubt that we will resolve it until sometime Spring term.

3)  Procedures for Restriction Comments (finalize)

·  See the change in procedures that sent from Carla along with a question about the Gen Ed restriction being done centrally.

·  UDA’s response is waiting for Registrars’ final input.

·  From ASCC meeting: The university identifier is not required. You should enter the identifier if adding a comment to an existing restriction you did not add originally. Otherwise adding the identifier is optional.

4) e-Commerce Transcript question

·  Meetings have been held with the Registrars and RIS personnel to create a list of questions that will need resolution.

5)  SAT to ACT Conversion procedure inquiry.

·  Mike Merrill to draft procedure with Rose Hansen.

6) GPA Rounding –

·  Suzanne sent Dr. Turchen a summary of the changes needed. On their November 10th call, AAC decided to reverse their previous decision and leave all rules and GPA values as they currently are. Universities can handle individual cases as they arise and Ranny will work with the Registrars on a statement for the Degree Audit Evaluation regarding a 1.9996 GPA student not being permitted to graduate since the 2.00 that displays is rounded.

2)  Residency Policy and Residency form - do not agree - Information sent to Monte Kramer for resolution and response.

·  The Request for Residency Form will require change – Rose will work with the Admissions Module to make the change. She will inform Monte Kramer and Mike Merrill when this has been completed

3) Lecture Designation - Dist Ed courses are displaying “Lecture/Room TBA” on WebAdvisor.
