MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

£233.70 has been raised so far. Raffle tickets are still being sold. Thank you to everyone who helped during the morning.

It was commented that next year more advertising should be done beforehand.

PPG MEMBERS

The practice has 57 members in total. 21 attend meetings at different times, and 36 are members of the Patient Reference Group who receive copies of minutes etc but do not attend meetings.

ONLINE SERVICES

Prescription ordering and appointment booking online has commenced. Patients need to register at reception.

QUESTIONNAIRES

Questionnaires are being handed out to patients now. Christine Callan stated she would be willing to come to surgery and hand them out to patients again this year.

ELECTION OF COMMITTEE

There was a unanimous decision that Vic Silvester will be the Chairperson and Alan Taylor the Vice Chairperson. Joe Welch and Harry Singh will be named committee members. Linda Mason will continue to be the minute taker.

RECEPTION

Glynis mentioned that a carpenter will be coming to quote for installing a Perspex screen on reception. This is because staff find that some patients tend to lean over the reception desk and also to make telephone calls more private.

BUDS

Vic Silvester asked if he could arrange someone from BUDS (Better Understanding of Dementia) to talk to the group. This was agreed.

DOCTOR’S ROTAS

It was asked if doctors know when they will be working the following week and why patients cannot book in advance for all doctors. Glynis explained that advance booking is aimed at working patients and that even if we issued a list of when doctors normally worked, this would be likely to change due to holidays, sickness, etc.

AAA

It was asked whether information for AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) screening could be included in the next practice newsletter and on our website, including the telephone number to ring to arrange this which is 0121 424 3612.

INFORMATION SCREENS

A few meetings ago it was asked whether the practice would consider having information screens in the waiting areas. Glynis stated that the doctors felt this was too expensive as we would need three in total, one for each waiting area

CAR PARK PATH

It was asked whether anything has been arranged about making a path from Oldacre Road Car Park through to the front of the building. Vic Silvester stated that the Council’s planning department have said there should not be any problem in doing this. Glynis will speak to the doctors.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING

Monday 25th November 2013 at 6pm.
