MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
held at the ORLANDO SANFORD AIRPORT
1200 RED CLEVELAND BOULEVARD, LEVEL II BOARD ROOM
Tuesday, December 14, 2004 - 9:00 a.m.
I. CALL TO ORDER
The Sanford Airport Noise Abatement Committee meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Pennington, after which the mission statement was read. There being a quorum present.
Review of minutes of the November 9, 2004 --- meeting
Motion by Jack Dow, and seconded by Skip Monk
to approve the minutes of November 9, 2004. Motion carried.
Before the Noise Report was made, Larry Dale wished everyone present a happy holiday season. Chairman Pennington thanked Larry Dale in his efforts to promote the Airport and the SANAC Board members for their work throughout the year trying to eliminate noise in the area.
II. NOISE REPORT
Jack Dow presented the Noise Reports for November 2004.

+ Presentation and comments from Committee/Public
Mr. Dale wondered why aircraft are kept at 2,000 ft when arriving. Bryce Courtney stated that it was not done so very often; 3,000 ft was more commonly use to get to Orlando Sanford International Airport.
+ Air Carrier Report
Skip Monk stated that Pan Am Clipper Connection was scheduled to be on business within the following months. Destination will be Boston, Maine.
Mr. Dale discussed the unexpected shutdown of Southeast Airlines on November 30, 2004 at 12:00 am. He stated that on the following day, December 1st, Airport employees worked the Southeast Airlines ticket counters and assisted passengers. He also discussed the effect of fuel prices on other airlines. Mr. Monk stated that it was partly due to the airlines’ reluctance to increase their prices in order to compensate for the fuel price increase.

+ General Aviation Report
Michael Kern stated that Delta Connection Academy was filming an advertising film in which a helicopter was involved.
III. OLD BUSINESS
None discussed.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
+ Discussion of Mr. Lynn Stogner’s letter
Mr. Dale stated he had spoken with Mr. Stogner regarding his letter. He explained to Mr. Stogner that traffic would disperse over the coming years. Mr. Dale stated Mr. Stogner was satisfied that the issue was being addressed.
According to Mr. Dale, the FAA recognized that the forecast for the Airport was incorrect and that it needed to be changed. This acknowledgement will make it easier to receive funding in the future.
+ Other new business from the floor
Mr. Dow presented a diagram by Marty Lauth describing the direction of operation for Orlando Sanford International Airport. The diagram demonstrated how often East and West Operations are done. It validated the findings of the Part 150 Study. Chairman Pennington suggested it be done several times in order to confirm its accuracy.

Juan Omana wondered about the refurbishment status of the Ventura. Mr. Dow stated they were 10 months into the restoration efforts and were in the process of asbestos removal. Restoration takes place in a hangar close to the Cargo Building, Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 3 pm. For future reference, Chairman Pennington suggested Mike Rawe, one of the volunteers, be recorded/filmed narrating his experiences with the Ventura.
V. Future Meetings
The next SANAC meeting was scheduled to be held on January 11, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the A.K. Shoemaker International Domestic Terminal Conference Room, Level II, 1200 Red Cleveland Boulevard.
VI. Adjournment
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
