The meeting was gaveled to order at 1:30 pm by John Milne, President

Present: John Milne, George Alexander, Carl Kruse, Paul Larsen, Tony Tremonto,

Veronica Wasserman, Pat Weis, Anthony V. Pinzone, Advisor

Not Present: Hank Curran

Guest Speakers: Ed Lavallee, City Manager, Bob Daniels, City Councilman

Prior Minutes *The minutes of the October 26th meeting were presented

·  Pat Weis moved the minutes are approved once detached from executive committee minutes

·  Veronica Wasserman seconded the motion

Treasurer’s Report *Carl Kruse reported the BIHOA annual membership dues is reduced from $50.00 to the current $40.00 and requested that all home owners remit the correct amount of $40.00

Steve Foligno, Park Manager *Mr. Foligno gave an overview report on the current conditions of the Park * beautification upgrades planned to be done;

* placement of mulch throughout;

*new directional signs installed;

* major roads pavement capx project to be done in February, 2013;

* upcoming auction of ELS owned vacant homes by professional auctioneer;

Camelle Sonsini, Activities Director *Ms. Sonsini announced that for all non emergency calls, residents are to call the Venice Police Dept. at telephone #941 486 2444 which will be posted in The Bay Indies Newsletter. She further explained that #911 is to be used for all emergency calls.

Anthony Pinzone, Advisor *Anthony Pinzone reported that the BIHOA took a very active role with both the County Assessor’s office and the Office of The City Council regarding the recent notices received from ELS for both lot rent and pass thru tax increases to become effective January, 2013.

* Mr. Pinzone also provided a lengthy explanation of the process utilized by the County Assessor’s office in determining the assessed value of the Bay Indies property and the City Council office’s procedure with determining the final budget; further explaining that both of these factors have a direct impact on what the (new) monthly lot rental rates are here in Bay Indies with comparisons made of the rates of increases that are passed onto other mobile home parks as well.

Guest Speaker #1 *Ed Lavallee, City Manager reported the complications involved with the process utilized by the County Assessor’s office in determining the assessed value of the Bay Indies property as well as other properties in the City of Venice. Mr. Lavallee also discussed the City’s process relative to the City budget deliberations.

Guest Speaker #2 *Bob Daniels, City Councilman reported the process utilized by the City Council with determining the final budget. Mr. Daniels also reported certain internal changes within the City’s process that need to be made for next year’s budget.

Service Committee Reports *Veronica Wasserman reported the process by which residents concern forms should be turned into the office first with a copy delivered to her home address at 956 Zacapa Avenue. Veronica also announced that Pat Weis is working very closely with her as the Co-Chairperson. Ms. Wasserman expressed her gratitude to management and to all present for cooperating with following the procedures to enable better service to all concerned.

Carl Kruse, Treasurer *Mr. Kruse reported where the annual dues of $40.00 should be paid and announced that same be deposited into the BIHOA mailbox located at his home address at 962 Eleuthera Ave. E.

George Alexander * Mr. Alexander reported that the annual dues were reduced from $50.00 to $40.00. George further stated that there will also be a door-to-door campaign for collecting of the dues.

Pat Weis *Ms. Weis reported that there is an opening on the Board and requested that anyone who is interested to apply to please provide John Milne, President with a Resume for consideration. Pat also announced that there will be (3) positions open in February as well.

Stakeholders’ Work Group *No report was given at this meeting as a detailed report of the last Stakeholder’s Work Group was emailed to all board members by Mr. Pinzone.

Legislative Committee *No report was given at this meeting.

Assoc. of Venice Condo Residents *No report was given at this meeting.

New Business *John Milne reported that the BIHOA determined that ELS has overcharged (67) homeowners an increased rate beyond the 3% as per our agreement. Mr. Milne also reported that the HOA scheduled a meeting with ELS this Monday to discuss this problem. John stated that the residents would be informed of the results of the meeting with ELS at the next HOA meeting in December.

Residents Comments *A resident posed a previous question raised regarding ELS and/or the BIHOA undertaking the cost for the replacement of a swan by the lake. Several other residents posed questions involving the follow up procedures of the resident concerns and the feed back response was provided by Veronica Wasserman, Chairperson of the Service Committee.

Public Relations *Carl Kruse had nothing to report at this meeting

Adjournment *Mrs. Pat Weis moved that the meeting be adjourned
