Minutes of the Nagpur Sahodaya meeting

Venue :- Mimosa Hall , Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur

Time :-9:30 am

1) The meeting was held on 12th February, 2018 at Mimosa Hall, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur wherein 98 number of school principals attended the meeting.

2) The agenda of the meeting was the latest CBSE Circular dated 22nd January, 2018 concerning withdrawal of earlier Circular No. Acad-14/2017 dated 21/3/2017 regarding the examination pattern of Standard VI to VIII.

3) The Chairperson Smt. Radhika Mehra addressed the concerns of the schools regarding the above.

4) Since the Circular No. CBSE-Acad/JD-AHA/Notification/2018 dated 22nd January, 2018 regarding withdrawal was received only in the month of January, it was felt that making any changes in the examination pattern would be difficult.

5) Also, all the report cards have been printed and hence any change at this point is not possible.

6) Hence all present agreed that they would continue with the earlier pattern and any change in policy will be implemented from the next session. Also, CBSE may send further communication in this regard.

7) If schools have alternative plan, then they should take a call on the policy in consultation with their management.

8) Some members raised query regarding additional sixth subjects. They were informed that student may opt for the six subjects and if he fails in any of the main subject then the marks of the additional subject would be considered.

9) In case a student wants to give compartment exam in the main subject, inspite of offering six subjects, he may do so.

10) Mrs. Radhika Mehra informed the Principals that for introducing vocational stream/subject, school needs to seek prior permission from the Board.

11) The query regarding RTE Rules were also answered.

12) Mrs. Reena Dargan informed all the members present that Nagpur Sahodaya has almost 195 schools under its umbrella and there was a need to de-centralize Nagpur Sahodaya.

13) Two option were given (i) Cities willing to have their own Sahodaya are most welcome to do so (ii) Sub chapter of Nagpur Sahodaya may be constituted with creation of additional Secretary for each sub chapter.

14) The members present opted for the second suggestion and the following sub chapters with additional Secretary were formed.

1) / Amravati & Akola / : / Makes 1st chapter with Mr. Suresh Lakade of School of Scholars, Amaravati as the additional Secretary.
2) / Chandrapur & Gadchiroli / : / Makes 2nd chapter with Ms. Bhavana from Chanda Public School as additional Secretary.
3) / Yavatmal / : / Makes 3rd Chapter with Mr. Shivarama Krishna, Swarnleela International School as additional Secretary.
4) / Bhandara / : / Makes 4th chapter with Sister Carolian from St.Peter’s School as additional Secretary.
5) / Gondia / : / Becomes the 5th chapter with Ms.Eera Sharma from Gondia Public School as additional Secretary.
6) / Wardha & Hinganghat / : / Makes 6th chapter with Apoorva Pande from Channamwar’s Vidya Mandir as additional Secretary.

The schools from Buldhana, Washim, Nanded, Beed, Chhindwada, Sausar, Baitul, Nashik all remain the part of main chapter Nagpur as there are very few schools in each district.

15) Chairperson and Vice Chairperson promised to extend all help and cooperation to the sub chapters for conduction of any programme or workshops.

16) It was resolved that the sub chapter will continue to be the part of Nagpur Sahodaya.
