2015/95Declarations of interest (existence and nature) with regards to items on the agenda. None

2015/96Offers from two members of the public to join the council. Eliza Jones & Paul Duncan introduced themselves and gave a brief resume of their life in the village and expressed their interest in becoming involved with the running of the village. Councillors were pleased that Mrs Jones had involvement with the school. DC proposed Eliza Jones & Paul Duncan be co-opted as councillors, seconded by AB and agreed by all councillors. Action - Clerk to raise forms & declarations of interest for completion.

2015/97Representations from the public

Joe Blackstone; reported he had renewed the Countryside Stewardship for a further 10 years and outlined his work with planting alongside Bridleways so the public do not have to encroach on farmland to see flowers. Horses still wander from bridleways and this will be mentioned in the Council’s report in the parish magazine. Land at the edge of the village has been registered with SODC for development.

Liz Eaton asked the Council what was happening with the Parish Plan. After lengthy discussion it was decided that Liz Eaton & MH would attend the meeting about SODC Planning Strategy on 15th July if places were still available. DC would contact SODC to try and ascertain date of their report. A public meeting for all villagers would be held after receipt of the report and would be introduced but not led by the Parish Council.

Website – DC reported Website is live but needs updating. Chris Webb would require payment formaintaining website Action - MH to discuss payment with him. AB suggested one of the new councillors may be interested in doing this.

2015/102 CommitteeReports:

Recreation - MH reportedthat work on the refurbishment of the play equipment should be carried out soon.

Environment – Some work is required on trees to damaged limbs and encormic growth. It was agreed to get work done and to check the churchyard trees. LR to look into notes on Japanese Knotweed.

Allotments – Will Partridge sent report as published in Parish Magazine that he had asked allotment holders to vacate their plots if they were not going to cultivate.

Maintenance – MH reported that painting of the pavilion had been hindered by the Midsomer Murder filming.

The Fire Extinguisher had been fitted

WP requested door mats for the Greet Hall be obtained from Masterfloors, Agreed.

MH to look into purchasing rubber feetfor the chairs in the Greet Hall before the floor has been refurbished.

From member of public – Asked if the Council knew what was happening with the house on the main road. Chairman said squatters had taken up residence but have now left. District Council had instructed landowner to improve property by December.

From member of public – Hedge along pavement in Shillingford needs cutting – Action - Clerk to include it in letter to S. Cook
