  1. To agree the Minutes of the Meeting of the Navan Joint Policing Committee held on Thursday 25th November 2010 at 9.30am in the Council Chamber, Townhall, Watergate St, Navan, Co Meath.

The Minutes of the Meeting of the Navan Joint Policing Committee held on Thursday 25th November 2010 at 9.30am in the Council Chamber, Townhall, Watergate St, Navan, Co Meath were adopted on the proposal of Cllr F Deane and seconded by J Mangan.

  1. To receive report in relation Policing issues from An Garda Siochana.

The Members received and noted a report on Policing issues which was presented to them by the Superintendent, An Garda Siochana.

  1. To receive information in relation to proposed Bye-Laws for the Prohibition of Consumption of Intoxicating Liquor/substance on public roads and in Public Places within the function area of NavanTown Council

The Members received and noted information in relation to proposed Bye-Laws for the Prohibition of Consumption of Intoxicating Liquor/substance on public roads and in Public Places within the function area of Navan Town Council which was presented to them by the Town Clerk.

Each of the Members present supported the content of the presentation and looked forward to the implementation of same in Navan.

The Town Clerk advised that it was his intention to carryout preliminary consultation with An Garda Siochana in advance of bringing the draft bye-laws to the March Meeting of Navan Town Council

  1. To receive a short presentation from the Navan Active Retirement Group

The Members received a short presentation from the Navan Active Retirement Group in relation to the various issues of concern amongst their elderly members

  1. To receive a short report in relation to RAPID from Ms Mairead Maguire ( RAPID Co-ordinator )

It was agreed that this Item would be deferred for discussion until the next meeting of the Joint Policing Committee

  1. To fix a date and location for the first Public Meeting of the Navan Joint Policing Committee.

The Members requested that the meeting take place in the Windtown Area but a location would have to de sought.

The Town Clerk advised that he would check when the official opening of the Windtown Resource Centre would be and revert to the Members at their next meeting with possible dates.
