The minutes were noted and had been approved at the Ordinary Meeting of Staveley Town Council on 11 October 2016.
088/ME/16 / MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES OF THE LEISURE AND COMMUNITY COMMITTEE OF STAVELEY TOWN COUNCIL HELD ON 28 SEPTEMBER 2016
There were no matters arising.
089/ME/16 / ALLOTMENTS
The Town Clerk gave an update on a meeting that he had attended along with Councillor Derbyshire and A Dunn of Chesterfield Borough Council, relating to Barrow Hill Allotments. Chesterfield Borough Council are to ask their Environmental Health Department to review the chemical test results and then a further meeting will be held.

As of Tuesday 24.10.16 The following free tickets had been issued:

Councillor Dyke suggested that next year's summer activities be done in partnership with the police.
091/ME/16 / SPEEDWELL ROOMS
The Town Clerk and Financial Officer reported on the following improvements at the Speedwell Rooms:
·  52 new chairs have been purchased
·  An external tap has been fitted near the kitchen
·  Work on the new roof starts in late November
·  The refurbishment of the two toilets and changing rooms has been completed
·  Prices are being obtained for a number of other improvements to the outside of the building
It was suggested that the feasibility of holding band nights/ concerts be investigated for 2017.
092/ME/16 / CHRISTMAS MARKET
The Christmas Market is being held on 7 December 2016.
Sixteen stalls have been booked out so far, Hollingwood School Choir are attending to sing and the Rotary Club Sleigh is also attending.
There will be a Christmas Lights switch on at 6.30 pm
093/ME/16 / REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Preparations are underway for this. The road closure has been approved and notices will be displayed from 2.11.16. The Church Community Hall has been booked for refreshments after the service and Councillors Elliott and Barnett have been to check the suitability of the facility.
094/ME/16 / ELDERLY PERSONS CHRISTMAS MEAL
It was RESOLVED that this will take place on Friday
16 December 2016.
095/ME/16 / PANTOMIME
This will be advertised from 1 December 2016.
096/ME/16 / ANY OTHER BUSINESS
It was RESOLVED that Staveley Town Council mark Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January each year by opening a book of remembrance at the 26 High Street office
A discussion was held about introducing a 'Super Kitchen' at the Speedwell Rooms. This will be discussed further at Ordinary Council.
