Minutes of the EIP- AHA C2 Action group meeting

05 June2013

Introduction to the day

Peter Wintlev-Jensen welcomed everyone to the meeting. He gave an overview of the EIP on AHA, the key objectives of the programme, and some facts and figures on partner numbers and involvement across Europe. (See slide set on Yammer)
Peter also outlined the key issues for the Action Groups, to ensure that involvement was meaningful and useful to all partners.

Overview of action group & work so far – an introduction for new members

Antonio Kung gave an overview of the key deliverables for the C2 action group, and an update on the timeline so far. He then presented the plan for the coming year. (See slide set on Yammer).
There are now 5 working groups, grouping together the 8 deliverables from the action plan and operational plan and these were outlined in a slide.
Antonio noted two tools for cooperation within the C2 group:
CircABC - a repository
Yammer

Questions in general: The openness of Yammer. How to deal with it? Peter Wintlev-Jensen explained that it is needed to be an open network to share and to be an open community. Every member is responsible himself and has to decide which information he will share on Yammer.

Update from working groups on each of the deliverables and interactive whole group discussion on how new and existing members can and are contributing
D1 - innovative procurement. Overview of work so far. 5 examples of good practice identified so far. Planning a mutual learning workshop on October 2013.
Remark of Peter Wintlev-Jensen: connect with the project consortia who will be active in the CIP call about Innovative procurement.

D2 & D6 - cooperation platforms. Cooperation and working together in this way is new for many of us. Try out tools to share information and collaborate. Also need for repositories for information, documents etc. Learning by doing... Links with marketplace. Working closely with the commission.
D3 & D4 interoperability. Gathered a number of technical elements that are available, or will be available soon. These will be included in the repository.
User perceived interoperability is important, and links across all of the work in the action group. It is important that the technical experts will cooperate with other stakeholders in the action groups and subgroups, e.g. with end users and procurers.

Reference architecture and platform - has to relate to interoperability framework - presentation from French approach in the afternoon.

Operational guidelines - continua have an operational guideline. Can be requested from them to view. Further discussions in afternoon session. Set of best practices
D5 user empowerment. Agreed terms and what user empowerment means as a group at start (see slide set). This is a framework and not closed and is open for development and refining as work progresses. Three main tasks identified.A challenge identified was involving the user in this work and whether they would have access to the information we post.

D7 & D8 return on investment. Reminder of the high level objective for C2.
Desk top search of what exists as evidence already. Difficult to find any information on this topic. Social return of investment network in UK - good guide available.
Also circulated questionnaire template to partners about what was being done currently on ROI and any evidence that was available. Three responses outlined.
Included update to consider business models - and consider mutual learning workshop and invite experts form outside AAL sector as well as partners to develop further.
Introduction to Yammer
C2 invited members to join group on yammer. Started with a video - see video on yammer group. Using yammer as virtual environment to be a learning community. Learning by doing is an excellent way to get used to yammer. Developed for professional community building within organisations.
Feedback from afternoon working groups
Outputs from afternoon working groups will be posted in yammer work groups....
Contextualise EIP on AHA – an example from France

Antonio presented work from France as an example of bringing all of this work together in one region

Workshop plan for AAL Forum session
AAL forum - dissemination of early results. It is a good moment to think about the next phase of EIP based on the concrete results so far. Post this before the event takes place on the Forum and marketplace.

SMEs and regions are attending, so it is a good opportunity for outreach to these groups.

Dublin event was a good event, and having mix of workshop and stand was useful. Format of session informed by per-discussions on line.

Stand – Peter Wintlev-Jensen
Demos for stand - all
Submitted proposals - accepted?
Dissemination and examples
Interactive forum on AAL Forum website prior to forum

To have an interactive session during the AAL forum it is important to collect input from the AAL network and have round tables (90 min) about it. All the workgroups could prepare concrete results they would like to reflect on; Start before the event discussions on the AAL digital forum. Oskar Jonsson would like to contribute to this session.

There are several interesting side events as well:

  • B3 has arranged a side event and will prepare this together with C2 on Tuesday 24thSeptember from 0900-1700hrs
  • A high level meeting of CORAL, Eurrega on 24th September, 1100 -1230hrs.

Next C2 Action Group Meeting

To be agreed.
