(Brought forward to next meeting)
Lloyds will be taking over the franchise for the Sainsbury's Pharmacy in September.
Sainsbury's will still keep same staff and admin.
Item 5Surgery Update:
Gill Grinstead has joined the practice as the surgery pharmacist and is working Mon/Tues/Weds 11.30 -1.45. She will be helping GPs with changes of medication
following hospital discharge etc.
A question was raised -"Why can't discharge information be sent electronically to GPs?"
Jo has now left the Practice and her replacement, Georgina, is currently spending some
time with Mandy.
A new signboard is now in place outside displaying the names of the partners.
Julie mentioned that Giffard Drive Surgery has a stall giving Alzheimer's' information and advice and has suggested to Pip and Marion that it may be an idea worth trying..
Item 6Fund Raising 21st May:
Congratulations to all involved! The total raised was £438.30 and one remaining nesting
box was sold this evening bringing the final total to £443.30.
Martin will liaise with Katie to hand over the money for the 2 diagnostic stations that we are donating to the surgery. MJ/KB
Item 7AOB
Minutes of Area Group will be circulated shortly. One outstanding point was that in this
area we are 17 GPs short and receptionists are, in some cases, triaging.
The comment was made that trainees doing their GP training at Salisbury Road have
become more positive about becoming GPs.
There is a Carers' Week at Farnham Hospital - poster to go in waiting room.
Exercise courses for over 65s -poster to go in waiting room.
Lawrence announced that, sadly, he will be leaving the group. A patient at this practice
for over 30 years, he has received a letter saying that as he is not within the catchment
area he must find alternative medical cover within the next 30 days before being
removed from the list of this practice.
Although understanding the need to accommodate more people actually within the catchment area, the group were appalled at the heartless tone of this letter. Although Lawrence could obviously cope, it was felt that vulnerable people would need more
support, especially as seemed not to imply that others were in the same situation.
Martin to speak to Katie. MJ/KB
