MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING

VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

IN THE VILLAGE OFFICE

January 11, 2016

The regular meeting of the Village Board, of the Village of Strum, Wisconsin, Trempealeau County, was held in the Village office on Monday, January11, 2016.

Meeting called to order:

The meeting was called to order by the Village President, Dean Boehne at 6:30 p.m. VillageClerk,Michelle Loken, took the minutes of the meeting. The following board members were present:Gerritts, Thompson,Nelson, Booth, and Bjerke. Taylor was absent.

Open Meeting Law Requirements Have Been Complied With:

President Boehne announced the open meetings law requirements have been met for the meeting.

Approval of minutes:

A motion was made by Nelson and seconded by Boothto approve the minutes from the regular Village Board Meeting held on December 14, 2015, as printed. Motion carried.

Appearances by Citizens and Others:

Reports from Officers:

  1. Police Chief: Nothing to report.
  1. Zoning Commissioner: Nothing to report.
  1. Clerk: Nothing to report.

Reports from Committees:

  1. Personnel:

a.Personnel Committee met Monday, December 28, 2015 at 9:00 am in the Clerk’s Office to work on updating the Employee Handbook. The Village Board went through the changes that were made and discussed them. The clerk will make the suggested changes and present at the February 8th meeting.

  1. Finance:

a.The Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the lease between the Village of Strum and Strum Community Foundation.

  1. Public Works: Nothing to report.
  1. Public Safety: Nothing to report.
  1. Public Welfare: Nothing to report.
  1. Solid Waste Management: Nothing to report.
  1. Library Board Report: Nothing to report.
  1. Joint Sewage Commission: Nothing to report.
  1. Miscellaneous:

a.A village resident contacted Dean Boehne and wanted to let him know about an incident with Village employee’s Brad Olson and Craig Marsolek. Last week, Olson heard their CO2 detector alarm and contacted Marsolek to go with him to the home to make sure that everything was safe. The resident was very appreciative of the employee’s gesture. They wanted to make sure the board was aware of this.

Approval of Vouchers and Journal Entries: A motion was made by Thompsonand seconded by Gerrittsto pay the following billsand approve all journal entries. Check #’s37201 thru 37273. Motion carried.

Adjournment: A motion was made byThompsonand seconded byGerrittsto adjourn at7:45p.m. Motion carried.
