As the Chairman Cllr J Holloway was not in attendance Cllr T Reilly was selected to chair the meeting on the proposal of Cllr S Cassells and seconded by Cllr F Deane.
1.0 Confirmation of Minutes
Confirmation of Minutes of the March Monthly Meeting of the Navan Electoral Area Committee held at 9.30am on 10th March 2010 in the Council Chamber, Navan Town Council, Townhall, Navan, Co Meath.
The Minutes of the March Monthly Meeting of Navan Electoral Area Committee were adopted by the Members on the proposal of Cllr S Cassells and seconded by Cllr J Reilly.
2.0 Correspondence & Matters raised by the Area Manager.
The Area Administrator advised the Members that there were no items of correspondence or Matters to be raised by the Area Manager.
3.0 Notice of Motion – Cllr Francis Deane
“I call on the Navan Area Office to re-erect a cross at Oberstown in memory of the late Private Keogh”.
This Notice of Motion was proposed by Cllr F Deane and seconded by Cllr T Reilly.
4.0 Any Other Business
· Junction on new Athboy Road at Clarke’s Cross
Difficult to find entrance to Athboy Road at night.Area Engineer to inspect.
· Update re switching on of Public Lighting in Kentstown.
Area Engineer to investigate.
· Update on public lighting in Simonstown.
Area engineer explained the issues between ESB Contracts and ESB Networks and that all should be resolved now.
· Pedestrian lights at Johnstown
Area engineer explained that discussions taking place between ESB Networks & Dublin City Council (who are looking after the works) and DCC are awaiting confirmation from the ESB as to the route for the ducting to connect up the pedestrian crossing.
· Official opening for works carried out at Kentstown.
It was proposed by Cllr T Reilly & seconded by Cllr S Cassells to have an official opening for the works carried out at Kentstown.
· Update on synchronisation of traffic lights and commencement of roadworks programme.
Area Engineer advised that civil works on synchronisation of traffic lights were almost completed with snagging works ongoing at present and that the switch over to the new lights will take place over the coming weeks
