MUCH HOOLE PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF MUCH HOOLE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT MUCH HOOLE VILLAGE HALL ON WED13th Feb. 2013, AT 7.30pm

1. Members Present

Cllrs. Mrs Houghton, Mrs. Gelder, Ms. Cowburn and Cllrs. Brown and Davidson.

There was one member of the public present.

2. Apologies for absence.

Cllrs. Mrs. Fenton Mr. Taylor and Hodson.

3. Declarations of Interest.

Cllr. Mrs. Gelder – payment of the Clerk’s Christmas Market expenses.

4. Approval of the Minutes of the meeting 9th Jan. 2013.

It was resolved to accept the minutes of the meeting of 9th Jan. 2013.

It was agreed to hold the Adjournment before Matters Arising.

5. Adjournment

It was indicated that the previous manager of the Smithy Inn had left and there was a new temporary manager in place. The Smithy Inn is a tied public house and SRBC can do little to help.

Consideration of whether the parish council should involve itself in the affairs of the Smithy Inn .

The council agreed to keep a watching brief.

Matters Arising.

Flooding – only 3 areas of public interest, others are problems of private individuals.

Trafalgar garden – enquiry into AP.Broome; Clerk checking shape on garden area.

BMX – some offers of help from last neighbourhood meeting; Could use local schools to help design the track.

6. To receive reports from local meetings (for information);

- No local meetings

7. Invoice for £182 from Townsend Print for the printing of a Spring newsletter.

It was agreed to pay the invoice. Assessment of numbers showed there are about 835 houses in Much Hoole. It was agreed to print only 1000 next time as there are still spare copies in the shop.

8. Clerk’s expenses of £160.33 towards the setting up and running of the Much Hoole Christmas Market.

Cllr. Mrs. Gelder left the room during this discussion.

It was agreed to pay the clerk’s expenses of £160.33.

9. Items for presentation to the 3-Tier Forum. – nothing to raise!

10. Response to the SRBC consultation on renewable energy resources.

The council considered the planning document comprehensive and not requiring any amendments. The Clerk to write to SRBC stating there were no need for alterations.

11. Response to the LCC amended 20mph zoning of Much Hoole. – no comment.

13. Planning

07/2012/0740,Moss Farm, Much Hoole.- 1 Wind turbine; as well as Chestnut Farm, Wham House Farm, Little Hoole, 3 turbines. Clerk to write objecting to the turbines on several grounds.

07/2012/0721/FUL and 07/2012/0745/FUL - Moorhey Farm new access and new residential building. – WITHDRAWN.

07/2013/0023/VAR, BWD, Brook Lane, - variation of opening hours to 24/7. – Noted.

07/2013/0058/HOH. 1, Smithy Lane, - 2-atorey side extension. – Noted.

14. Village Maintenance

Pothole down Moss House Lane near Carr Lane.

The hedge at the bottom of Town Lane has been trimmed so the path is now clear.

Robinsons.- appeal.

Next meeting is on Wed.,13th March 2013 at 7.30pm in the village hall.

Cheques issued

100235 for £182 to Townsend Print for printing of the Spring newsletter.

100236 for £160.33 to Richard Gelder for council expenditure on the Christmas Market.

Refund of £25 from LCTP after cancellation of Chairmanship training.

Grant of £77.82 from SRBC towards Christmas Market expenses.
