Listing of Stone Stiles and Railings
Cllr Slater has this in hand and it was agreed to defer this item for the next 3 months.
Plaque for Bridge
It was agreed to defer this item for the next 3 months or until the railings on the wall are installed.
Parish Plan Review
It was agreed to carry this out at the Annual Village meeting with the help of Helen Richards of GRCC. It was further agreed to cover the costs of this support as discussed.
Insurance Cover for Memorial Hall
Members were advised that the Village Hall Committee has provided a copy of the Insurance documents for the Hall.

19/14 / County and District Councillors’ Reports
Cllr Hicks (County) was not available.
Cllr J Parsons (District) advised that CDC is making £500 available per Ward for WW1 Commemorations and agreed to allocate £100 available for Avening.

It was noted that water is running down the road between New Inn Lane & Point Road (Farm Hill) and that this has been advised to Gloucestershire Highways by Cllr Slater together with other issues.
Road Markings on Junction by Bell Inn
Nothing to report.
Road Closure Notices
Longford Mills and Gatcombe – Both noted. Cllr Parsons advised that he had requested the drain to be cleaned whilst work on the road is being carried out at Longford Mills.

Housing Needs Survey
The Clerk advised that GRCC has already received some responses and will present the final report at the April meeting and to residents at the Annual Village Meeting.
Community Payback Scheme Work
The Clerk advised that arrangements are in hand.

WW1 Commemorations and CDC Funding
Cllr Mrs Mitchell agreed to lead the Commemoration Event and a provisional date of Friday, 27 June was discussed. It was also agreed to make enquiries about other events to avoid a clash.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Deferred to the next meeting.
Arrangements for the Annual Village Meeting and Parish Plan Review
It was agreed to enquire if the Memorial Hall is available for Thursday, 22 May and to use the same format as last year.
Village Drainage / Waterways
RESOLUTION 6/14
Cllr Conway suggested that the waterways of the Village are of significant historical interest around which the local weaving industry was developed. It was agreed to research the waterways and develop a long term strategy to promote the maintenance of properties near to waterways and findthe sluice gates. It was unanimously RESOLVED to allocate £5,000 in the 2014-15 budget for this purpose.
Provision of Community Defibrillators
RESOLUTION 7/14
It was unanimously RESOLVED to purchase 1 defibrillator to be installed in the Village redundant telephone kiosk.
Website Update
Cllr Slater advised that the website’s views had increased by around 300% since the rebuild.

The Chairman confirmed that Avening Parish will be part of the new Grumbolds Ash with Avening Ward together with Cherington. This will come into effect on 1 May 2015.
