President’s President welcomed Bob Hersh to our meeting. Bob is a resident of Mineola and the USATF

Remarksrepresentative to the IAAF; At the last two annual meetings, the USATF’s leadership has been challenged which indicates that this leadership has lost touch with its membership.

Old Business:1. Representatives to AAC meeting – Curt Clausen was selected to the USATF Board as the Athlete Rep

2. 2013 Association Award – Alex spoke with Herb Nichols who sent him to Desiree who has nothing to do with it. Alex went back to Herb and explained that the championships were counted incorrectly. Herb will check into it and get back to Alex

3. 2015 Associations Grant - Long Island will not be getting the grant because National Office claimed they never received the reports from 2012 & 2013 which were sent to Sherry Quack who no longer works with the national office

New business:1. Long Island Board members expressed their disillusionment with the National Board overturning the organization membership’s choice of nominee for the IAAF Council. Alex asked Bob for his opinion of what he thinks the Association should do. Response: Do not react immediately as it might be premature and also might draw unnecessary fire to the Association. Don’t front anything, but support whatever groundswell might occur. There is no guarantee that Stephanie will be elected to the IAAF Council – right now she is only nominated.
