Minutes INSTEP planning meeting 12th May 2009 -31 Grendon Drive

Following Rob Cutler’s hospitalisation and subsequent recovery, he will now be copied into the minutes. Tony Platts to be approached as Rob’s replacement on the Instep committee.

The meeting opened with Prayer.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and agreed and any matters arising would be dealt with as we moved through the agenda.

Correspondence

Ted has received a letter from Rob Cutler thanking Instep for their prayers and concern.

Treasurer’s Report

Mark wasn’t present at the start of the meeting however he can confirm that the cheque for £5000 to Go Africa has been presented so the Instep balance is now a true reflection of the funds available.

Thanks were given to Trudi Walsh for franking the last lot of mail which saved us in excess of 5p per letter.

Prayer Breakfasts

25/4/09 Glascote Heath.

The breakfast at Glascote Heath was a success with many new attendees from the local church who expressed their thanks and were glad to get involved.

This is the shared breakfast which at present is low on numbers, 10. John is from Solihull Renewal Christian Centre; he is a motivational speaker and is also blind.

Bryan is unable to be there so will deliver the POD to Mark before the day, Mark and Wesley to set it up!

Life is a marathon – Ray Grigg will be looking after Stuart for the November weekend when Stuart is talking to us on the Saturday morning.

Men’s weekend

Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8th – 10th October

Wesley is to contact Phil Collins to see if he will be the main speaker at the 2010 men’s week end although costs may be prohibitive. He is also to contact John Price from “Junction 10” with a view to speaking at the Hollyfields breakfast in February.

Wesley is also going to speak to Cliff Hadley when they meet in Africa later this year, to see if he will contribute to the prayer breakfast in January which could be entitled “Out of Africa”.

Men’s Weekend 2009

9-11 October 2009 Cliff College.

·  Charles Clayton of GAP will give a testimony on Friday evening and lead the meditation times on Saturday and Sunday morning.

·  David Spooner has confirmed he will be with us as the main speaker speaking on “Coping with conflict”.

·  David West-Mullen is to attend as in previous years to head up the worship.

·  John Roman will lead the walks on Saturday and possibly Sunday.

·  Rob Islip is to put the details onto the web site www.instepmen.org.uk

·  Ted to ask David W-M to produce some fliers for 2009 W/E in time for the breakfast in June, cost £40.00 for 200
