- Roll Call (see above)
- Administrative Items:
- Acceptance of prior meeting minutes
- Verification of call date/time: calls will be held on a weekly basis (alternate weeks of the WSBPEL TC call). Note that there are no plans to cancel our calls for the month of August.
- Problems with accessing documents/mailing list appear to have been resolved.
- Semantics Discussion:
- The group decided to utilize the term “usage scenario”.
- A usage scenario will provide a high level overview that can be drilled down into one or more specific detailed Use Cases
- Usage Scenario Discussion:
- Harvey Reed submitted a document (see that provides the following:
- A usage scenario based upon the Supply Chain
- Recommendations for identifying and developing usage scenarios
- Constraints for a given usage scenario may vary and should be identified in advance
- The subgroup appeared to agree that internationalization does not necessarily belong in BPEL. Usage scenarios should incorporate support for internationalization but should not necessarily be exclusively focused on internationalization issues.
- Harvey made several revisions to this document to incorporate feedback from the subgroup.
- ACTION ITEM: Harvey will re-post his proposal
- ACTION ITEM: Everyone should review this document and respond with comments
- The WS-I has developed a Supply Chain Management Use Case model (see Members of this subgroup should review this document for possible consideration.
- While multiple use cases may exist (RosettaNet, CPFR, SCOR, Simpl-EB, others), we must avoid attempting to “boil the ocean”. Since Simpl-EB is the lowest common denominator for e-business, it may make sense to start with it. Participants are encouraged to read the Simpl-EB document at and post comments to the mailing list.
- ACTION ITEM: Ben Bloch will meet with Peter to leverage his work from the Issues List. Ben will document this process utilized for the subgroup.
- We need to select one or more usage scenario proposals for presentation to TC next week (or prior to the next TC conf call).
- Call adjourned at 17:10 ET
