MINI PLUS CEILING SYSTEM GUIDE SPECIFICATIONS

2.5, 3, 4 and 5 ton

GENERAL

Provide and install an air conditioning system designed specifically for use in small computer/data processing areas, or controlled office environments, and shall be capable of cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, and filtering air. Provide quantities and system configurations as shown on project drawings.

Units shall be ETL listed.

Cabinet and Frame - The frame shall be constructed of 14 gauge welded tubular steel and be coated with a heavy corrosion inhibiting finish. The outer steel casing shall have removable panels for servicing. The panels shall be insulated with half inch (1/2") thick, neoprene. An integral return air filter box with duct connection shall be factory installed and contain 2-inch thick 30% efficient filters (based on ASHRAE Std. 52.1-1992).

Electrical - All electrical components including contactors, relays, control transformers, and capacitors shall be pre-wired. The control circuit voltage shall be 24 volts. A micro-switch shall disable the unit operation prior to condensation pan overflow should the drain line become plugged with debris.

WATER COOLED SPLIT SYSTEM - The refrigeration system shall be split type with an evaporator and condensing section, factory assembled and tested.

The unit shall be mounted in the ceiling space with ducted supply and return air as required on the project drawings.

The evaporator section shall be a draw-through type consisting of a double width, double inlet blower with belt drive and variable pitch sheave, and self-aligning ball bearings rated for an average life of 100,000 hours. The evaporator coil shall be constructed with copper tubes and aluminum fins. A single stage refrigeration circuit shall contain an expansion valve with external equalization. Air delivery shall be a minimum of ____ cfm.

The condensing section shall contain a scroll compressor with crankcase heater, filter drier, and sight-glass. A high efficiency plate and fin water cooled condenser with head pressure activated water regulating valve built into the refrigeration system shall be provided. The maximum operating water pressure shall be 150 psi.

Both the evaporator and condensing sections shall be provided with stainless steel drain pans.

DATA ALARM MINI PROCESSOR-II™

Provide units with a Data Alarm Mini Processor-II. The microprocessor shall be a wall mounted, one row, 16-character control that will monitor the controlled environment's humidity, air flow, and cleanliness, and provide alarm history and an automatic self-test of the microprocessor on system start-up. Multiple messages shall be displayed by automatically scrolling from each message to the next. All messages shall be presented in a clear vernacular format on the liquid crystal display (LCD). Multiple alarms shall be displayed sequentially in order of occurrence.

OPERATION - A slide switch shall allow unit on/off operation. Push buttons shall allow menu selection for programming, operational information, diagnostics, and historical data. A two-level password feature shall prevent unauthorized access. Menu programmed information for basic system operation and alarm parameters shall be non-volatile.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS - The user friendly MENU and SELECT push buttons shall permit step-by-step programming of the following selections:

• Temperature setpoint: 60-80° F/18.3 – 29.4° C • Humidity setpoint: 30-70% RH

• Temperature deadband: ± 1-5° F/C in 0.1° Incr.• Humidity deadband: ± 1-15% RH

• Temperature alarm points• Humidity alarm points

DISPLAYED CONDITIONS, DATA, and FUNCTIONS - The Data Alarm Mini Processor-II shall display and monitor the following conditions, data, and functions:

• Temperature setpoints • Humidity setpoint

• Current temperature • Current humidity

• Cooling 1, 2 (as applicable) • Reheat

• Humidification • Dehumidification

• Date and time • Occupied/unoccupied period

ALARMS - Alarm conditions shall be displayed and monitored on the microprocessor LCD along with an audible alarm. The alarm silence switch shall quiet the audible alarm but the display will continue to indicate the alarm condition until it is corrected. The following alarms shall be displayed:

• High temperature warning• High humidity warning

• Low temperature warning • Low humidity warning

• No air flow • Firestat tripped

• Power failure restart • Compressor short cycle

• Low voltage warning • Temperature sensor error

HISTORICAL DATA - Temperature and humidity, with the minimum and maximum readings since the last power on shall be recalled and displayed. Alarm history shall be maintained in sequential order (last 5 alarms).

DIAGNOSTICS - Automatic and manual diagnostics shall simplify troubleshooting.

In addition, the Data Alarm Mini Processor-II shall have an inclusive seven-day programming format for unoccupied or low demand periods. This secondary schedule shall minimize equipment runtimes, reducing energy consumption and provide user cost savings.

The following selections shall be adjusted to match the requirements needed for the unoccupied or low demand periods:

*Alarm displays require additional components or sensors and programmable selections. Some alarm messages are selected in three optional alarm menus.

Electric Reheat - Provide unit with electric reheat. The reheat shall be of the finned enclosed sheath type, fabricated of stainless steel core sheath with pleated fins to withstand moist conditions. The reheat shall be installed on air discharge side of the evaporator. The reheat shall be ___ KW to operate on a supply of ___ volts, __phase, and _ hertz.

OPTIONS

ENERGY SAVER COIL - Water/glycol units shall be with Energy Saver coil to provide total required capacity. Whenever the incoming water/glycol temperature is below 45° F/7.2° C, Energy Saver cooling shall be available and mechanical cooling shall stop. The Energy Saver shall operate as long as there is a call for cooling. If the temperature goes beyond setpoint plus 2 degrees, the Energy Saver valve shall close and mechanical (DX) cooling will begin.

Units with Energy Saver shall be provided with next size motor and 3-way, 2-position valve. Units shall be provided with common piping for coil and condenser.

AUXILIARY CHILLED WATER COIL - Provide units with an auxiliary chilled water coil. Units shall operate using chilled water for cooling. Upon a loss of water flow or an increase in room temperature the system shall bring on compressor (DX) cooling. Separate piping shall be provided for the chilled water coil.

Units with auxiliary chilled water coil shall be provided with next size motor and 3-way, 2-position valve.

STEAM GENERATOR HUMIDIFIER - An electric steam generator humidifier with disposable cylinder and self-regulating auto flush shall be provided. The humidifier capacity shall be ___ lbs/hour.

HOT WATER REHEAT - Provide with a water coil. The coil shall be designed for 150-psi maximum water pressure with a 2-way valve included.

HOT GAS REHEAT - Provide units with hot gas reheat. The unit's hot gas discharge shall be used for reheat and maximum system efficiency.

DISCONNECT SWITCH - Provide units with disconnect switch. The disconnect switch with 1/4 turn latch shall be factory installed and wired. The switch must be in the "OFF" position to remove panel and access electrical compartment.

SEPARATE POWER SOURCE - Indoor split systems shall be provided with separate power feeds. A power connection shall be provided for both the evaporator section and/or condenser/condensing unit.

HOT GAS BYPASS - Provide hot gas bypass. Hot gas bypass control on the refrigerant circuit shall maintain minimum suction pressure during low load conditions.

LOW AMBIENT CONTROL DAMPER - Unit shall be provided with a low ambient control damper. A damper section with head pressure operator shall enable unit to operate down to -30° F/-34.4° C. Damper section and control shall ship loose for field installation.

UNIT MOUNTED RECEIVER - Provide a unit-mounted receiver in compressor section with pressure control and liquid line solenoid valve. Receiver shall allow unit to operate down to -30° F/-34.4° C.

3-WAY WATER REGULATING VALVE - Provide a 3-way pressure control valve.

3-WAY CHILLED WATER - Provide a 3-way chilled water valve.

CONDENSATE PUMP - Provide a condensate pump for field installation. A separate power source shall be required. Pump body shall be placed within the unit coil pan. Pump shall have a maximum of 8 feet head.

EXTENDED COMPRESSOR WARRANTY - Compressors shall an additional two (2) or four (4) year compressor warranty to supplement standard three-year warranty.
