Mini business plan

This mini business plan can be completed before your first meeting with a consultant. Writing 10-15 lines about each point gives the consultant a good impression of you and your business, and you will probably receive better advice as a result.

If you have already prepared a business plan or committed your plans or ideas to paper in some other way, you can send this instead.

Alternatively, use the plan as a common point of reference when discussing your business together. It is important to consider these questions before starting your own business.

For example an IT business with java script as its key area of expertise, a butcher's, or a travel agency specialising in trips for senior citizens.

3. Which products or services will you sell?

For example apps that connect websites with a business's administrative systems, guaranteed tender beef steaks and ready meals, or trips to historic European destinations with expert tour guides.

4. Who are your customers?

For example businesses who need to receive and process information for customers, consumers in the local area who want meat of the highest quality, or middle-class senior citizens.

5. Which customer needs will you fulfil?

For example by integrating web and administration, businesses can save a lot of money and offer improved services to their customers, the certainty of always being able to buy good-quality meat, and that senior tourists are able to enjoy a sense of history in the course of their trips.

6. How does your concept stand out in relation to your competitors?

For example we seek out customers and visualise for them which services and savings they can achieve by integrating their websites; the customer can be confident of being sold tender steaks – if they are not tender, he gets two tender steaks free of charge; or the historical facts about the trips are described in detail on our website..

7. What are the three most important qualities and competencies you put into your business?

For example being a qualified computer scientist with three years of experience from a similar business, extensive networks within the industry or issues which other people perceive as problems, I see as challenges.
