Milwaukee Kayak Companyto Open Pop-up Rental Site

at Schlitz Park

MILWAUKEE, WI, June 29, 2016 --Milwaukee adventurers rejoice! Milwaukee Kayak Company (MKC) is excited to announce the opening of a “pop-up” rental site at Schlitz Park in July to continue to share the sport of paddling with Milwaukee-area residents and visitors alike.The Schlitz Park site will be in addition to MKC’s main location in the Harbor District at 318 S. Water St.

Milwaukee Kayak Company at Schlitz Park willoperate three days a week starting Friday, July 8 through Labor Day Weekend. Kayak rentals will be available to walk-up traffic Fridaysthrough Sundays only from 10 a.m.to 7p.m. The kayaks will be available at Schlitz Park’s Riverwalk dock located at the south end of its RiverCenter Dr. parking lot.

“Milwaukee Kayak Company is thrilled to expand upriver at Schlitz Park in an area experiencing tremendous growth,” said Elizabeth Handle, owner of Milwaukee Kayak Company.“With the increase in tenants at Schlitz Park and a number of new residential and retail developments, more people are living, working and visiting this vibrant area.”

Suzy Pitzo, Schlitz Park’s tenant relations and customer service manager, added “Kayak rentals add another unique amenity for Schlitz Park tenants and neighbors to enjoy and are a perfect fit for our emphasis on health and wellness.”

MKC recently launched their fourth season at their main location where they provide kayak, canoe and standup paddleboard rentals. MKC also offers guided paddle trips and partners with local organizations including the Milwaukee RIVERKEEPER and Milwaukee County Historical Society.

Milwaukee Kayak Company was founded in 2013, is an advocate for our rivers and continues to promote our city, a healthy lifestyle and recreation on our rivers.
