Millennium Circulation

General

·  In Millennium clicking on the Innovative Icon found in the top left corner of the control bar will now launch a new control bar that allows you to launch a new module rather than from the icon on your computer desktop. To find the appropriate module, roll and hover your mouse over each icon. Be Aware: each launching of a new module counts as a license. The eiNetwork has a limited number of licenses; if too many sessions are opened, staff may be denied access.

·  Many of the circulation parameters will be available for viewing from Millennium Circulation. Click on the Admin Menu option. Included is days closed, hours open, loan rules, rule determiner table, patron block table, text of circulation notices, and time to reshelve.

Circulation Desk

·  Staff will be able to view patron records that are in use by the system. The Edit button is grayed out, no changes can be made, and the standard message appears stating the patron record is in use by system. However, the patron’s registering information, checked-out items, holds and fines can be viewed.

·  The Email address will now appear in the initial patron display (the patrons information that appears when you open their record).

·  A new fixed-length field will be added to the patron record to store the date of last circulation activity, as opposed to the existing "last updated" date. It is called the CIRCACTIVE field.

·  In the patron’s record there is a new way to view many of the fixed field lists. In the registering library, home library, Boro/Twp. and Pcode fields when you double-click on the name you now get an alphabetical list. When you double click on the number you still get the list in order by code number.

·  Receipts for payments will show the original amount of the charge, the amount paid, any amount remaining, and any amount waived.

View Holds Shelf

·  Under Select Location there is now a drop down menu arrow to select a library from a list of locations.

·  You can right click in any of the columns & get the option to search in a particular column (by name, date placed, description, etc.) or by the entire table. You can also print the table from here with the right click option.

Placing Holds

·  When placing a hold where there is an Available copy, the system will supply you with the item number the hold has been attached to.

Resolution of Past Known Problems

Problem

·  From a Bib-record in Search / Holds, if you choose to display items using the Current Location option that is located under the ALL button next to Transfer Holds button, this will remain as the default when you view other Bib-records. It becomes a problem if no copies are owned at your library. You will not have access to any of the Hold buttons or the All / Current Location button.

Resolution

·  Current Location no longer remains as the default once it is selected. When performing another search, the system defaults back to All locations.

Web Management Reports

·  A new category can be found above the SUBMIT button called MAINTENANCE with option to "Remove Existing Tables.” The button clears the report you had on the screen, and you can start a new search over again. It resets all of the settings that you originally selected (date, sort by, limit by, type).
