Mill Creek Competition Agenda – September 30, 2017

  • 7:15am – Team check-in opens (will stay open till 1pm).
  • 8:00am – main gate opens formiddle school spectators.
  • 9:15am – main gate opens for high school spectators.
  • 7:45-8:15am - Sound Check in main gym for middle schools. Squads are not allowed to warm-up or mark routine on mats. Squads competing later in the day can perform sound checks between sessions.
  • No coaches’ meeting. Please report to the audio technician 30 minutes prior to your session if you have a question for the tournament director.
  • 8:30am – Middle school competition begins (Side A squads will perform facing the commons area). High school squads will be divided into two sessions – approximate times are 10:00am for session one and 12:45pm for session 2.
  • Awards for each session will be announced approximately 15minutes after the last squad of that session performs.
  • Warm-ups will consist of five stations (high school only). You will have approximately 3 minutes at each station. Middle schools will have approximately 8 minutes at each station (will use stations 3-5 only). Middle schools will be scored according to GHSA guidelines and rubric. Rubric may be adjusted to score middle school teams over 16 members (large division).

  4. Four mats in auxillary gym
  5. Full floor in auxillary gym

Additional Information

  • All times are approximate. Actual times will depend on the pace of the judging.
  • Buses will unload in the front of the school and park in the bus lane of the adjacent middle school. Staff will be outside to assist teams to the check-in area (located at the front of the school).
  • Maps and an updated rotation schedule will be presented at check-in. Staff will be located in all areas to assist will directions, etc…
  • Each coach will receive a DVD of their division along with their scores.
  • There will be a coaches’ hospitality room and drinks/oranges will be provided for the squads after they compete.
  • Each team will be able to watch their performance after they exit the floor.
  • T-shirts will be on sale for $20. Admission is $7.
  • Please email me your sizes if you would like to pre-order shirts. Pre-orders must be picked-up prior to your team’s performance.
  • Directions: North on I-85 - Exit at the Hamilton Mill exit, exit 120. Turn right off of the exit and get in the middle lane. Turn left at the light (Hwy. 124). School is approx. 2-3 miles on the left.

South on I-85 – Exit at the Chateau Elan exit, exit 126. Turn left. Turn right at the second light (Hwy 124). School is approx. 4 miles on the right.
