The meeting was called to order at 5; 40PM by President Ryan Hansen

Donation Requests:

Jazmin West AIDS Orphans Kitchen in South Africa - $1000 previously allocated, approved and funds delivered.

Amigos de Honduras – email request – no specific ask

John Siemienowicz moved to table the motion. Bob Moulton

seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF and the request is

tabled.

MilfordHigh School Music Boosters – asked to contribute toward total of $35,000 for new band uniforms

Bob Moulton moved to donate $1000.00. Janet Langdell

seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF.

Anne-Marie House Friday Night Flix – asked to sponsor

Event in Milford for $750.00.

John Siemienowicz moved to donate $375.00. Walter Schnecker

seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF.

Milford Rec Dept Kids Carnival – Sponsorship of Patches the Clown – asked for $300.00. – Event is 8/11/12 at Keyes Field.

Julie Whitcomb moved to donate $300.00, unrestricted. Seth Ziegler seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF.

2012 MS 150 Bike Ride – Parenti’s – goal is to raise total of

$16,000.

Janet Langdell moved to donate $100.00. Julie Whitcomb

seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF.

It was suggested that we ask them to come to a meeting and

report on the event.

Secretary's Report:

John Siemienowicz moved to accept the June minutes as presented. Julie Whitcomb seconded the motion. The motion passed, 7 in favor, Janet Langdell abstained as she was not at the June meeting

Treasurer's Report – Bob Moulton – Reports on file

Club

Foundation/Fundraising

Julie Whitcomb moved to accept the reports as presented. Seth

Ziegler seconded the motion. The motion passed AIF.

The reports generated discussion regarding the Youth Exchange,

Interact and GSE – should they more properly be included under

the foundation vs. the club funds. General consensus was yes - no formal action taken at this meeting.

Trustee’s Report from Doug - attached

Old Business

Resignations – none requested

Suggestions for new board member–Ryan to work on this’

Sergeant-at-Arms – process for set-up / take-down

It was suggested that a written procedure be posted to the website

as well as posted at the Community House.

Dues rate increase

Informal discussion, no action taken.

Discussion items included finding other revenue streams (i.e.:

website sponsorships), that our dues are lower than most clubs.

Trustees for the Foundation – no Board action at this meeting

$500 for 50 Club Flags

Seth Ziegler moved to authorize Julie Whitcomb to order

100 flags. Bob Moulton seconded the motion, the motion passed AIF.

New Business

Membership – Prospects? New approaches? Retention?

Appointing an “Exit Interview” position

Ryan reported that membership will be discussed at every Board meeting. Discussion items included being sure all of our events

Are well publicized (incl. Amherst Citizens), all members need to

“talk-up” Rotary to non-members, establish a more formal list of

Friends of Rotary.

“Exit Interview” – Ryan to approach the individual suggested.

Next steps for Foundation QuickBooks conversion? – Bob

Discussed this in the Treasurer’s Report –progress is on going

End of Year – Funding left over from Julie’s year/Doug’s year.

Paid “Rotarian” magazine subscriptions for library

Ryan reported that the price is $6.00 for an annual subscription. It was also suggested that we ask members

To turn in their magazines to be re-labeled. Julie will

Rotary World Peace Day – Sept 21, 2012 – Michelle Sampson
