Milestii Mici Underground Winery
The "Golden Collection" Milestii Mici is the pride not only of our enterprise, but also the pride of the whole country, of the whole Europe.
In August, 2005, it was registered in the Guiness Records for being the biggest Wine Collection in the world.
It contains over two millions bottles of wine highly appreciated by the winemakers from all over the world.
The wines stored here are made from crops of various years, beginning with 1969: “Pinot”, “Traminer”, “Muscat”, “Riesling”, “Feteasca”, “Dnestrovscoie”, “Milestscoie”, “Codru”, “Negru de Purcari”, “Trandafirul Moldovei”, “Auriu”, “Cahor-Ciumai”, and others. All these wines are made according to the old Moldavian traditions; you can fell the sunshine and the power of the earth in every drop of it.
The lucky guests that get into it are given the opportunity to walk through the dark avenues and streets with rows and niches where big barrels are placed and precious bottles carefully laid down. The labels with maps, covered with spider web and sealed with wax give you the feeling that you pass into another strange and beautiful world, into another old century.
Even the most captious visitor will be satisfied of the quality of the “Milestii Mici” collection wines.The architectural style of the "Golden Collection", which is the pearl of our enterprise, resembles with ancient Greek temples. The wines lie right there, at a depth of 80 meters, in bottles covered with dust and mould, in small elegant houses which are completed every year. The oldest wine dates from 1969.
The production with the trademark "Milestii Mici" is popular in Moldova, and not only. The biggest part of the export goes to Russia; the wines are also exported to the USA, Japan, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Belarus, Ukraine, etc.
In the "Golden Collection" Milestii Mici the wines are protected as babies, educated as difficult adolescents. Here come only the best wines, reaching special, delicious tastes. After several years of storage in the collection the wines acquire rich bouquets and aromatic notes – vanilla, cherries, blackberries, prunes and even astringent cardamom.
The local microclimate (constant temperature and humidity) beneficially acts on their gustatory special features. The visitors of the site should know that good collection wines in Europe became the same attribute of success as the classical objects of luxury. One could even rent a place in our collection, where to store and to mature the own wines.
