Throughout her time at Mott,Mikayla has been a team leader on each of her three varsity teams. She is well respected and her competitive edge, focus, and determination have led her to excel in each of her sports. Mikayla has participated on the varsity basketball team for three years, earning KLAA All Conference honors two-times, and team MVP in 2015. She has been a 2 year member of the cross country team, and was selected as captain in 2015. She was a member of the 2015 cross country team that finished 6th in the MHSAA State Finals. The 4x400 Relay team also competed in summer running competitions and made it to Nationals. Her and the members of the 4x400 and 4x200 Relays set school records in 2015. Mikayla is determined to reach the goals she has set for herself and her teammates this spring.

Waterford Mott Track and Cross Country Coach, Amy McNeil comments, “Mikayla is the most well-rounded athlete I have ever coached, without exaggeration. She can run any event in track from the 100 to the 3200, including the hurdles, and she jumps as well! More than her athletic ability, we will miss her sense of humor, her leadership, and her consistent emphasis on the team above all. We wish her all of the best and have no doubt that she will have an immediate impact at the next level, as well as be a great asset and a shining star at SVSU.”
