Migration to GO-Secure Instructions

What is happening

  • Starting in September, 2015, some Ministry Applications will be migrated to a new security authentication and authorization mechanism (called GO-Secure) in order to comply with the latest Ontario Public Service Information Technology Security Policies and Standards.

  • If you use any of the above listed applications you must complete the one-time migration steps that are described in this document.

Step 1 – Register for a GO-Secure account

  • Click on the following link to start the registration process:
  • You should reach the GO Secure Login screen (see below)
  • Click on the “GO Secure Login – Register New”

  • In the Basic Information screen (below):
  • Enter all the required fields (marked with an asterisk) - note that the “Display Name” field is automatically populated based on what you enter in the “First Name” and “Last Name” fields
  • Make sure that the email address you provide is your valid email address associated with your institution (e.g. your board email address)
  • Click the “Next” button

  • In the Login Information and Security Informationscreen (below):
  • Enter your password (follow the Password Policy Rules that are shown)
  • Set your challenge questions and answers
  • Click the “Register” button

  • In theGO Secure Login Term and Conditions of Use screen:
  • Read the terms and conditions and click the “Accept” button

  • Upon successful registration you will be shown the Congratulations screen (see below)
  • Please read the instructions in this screen
  • Proceed to “Step 2 – Validate your GO-Secure account”.

Step 2 –Validate your GO-Secure account

In this step you complete the registration that was started in Step 1.

  • After accepting the Terms and Conditions at the end of Step 1, an email response will be sent to the email address previously provided in Step 1. The email subject should be “GO Secure Login – Registration Confirmation”. Login to your email account, to confirm that you have received the email. Open the email and click on the link provided in the email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, check your Junk or Bulk Mail folders. If you still have not received the confirmation email, please contact the OnSIS Help Desk by email at , or by phone at 416-212-6366 / Toll Free 1-888-275-5934.
  • The email content should look similar to the following sample:

  • Clicking the link in the email willbring you back to Go Secure Sign In page. On this page:
  • Enter the username (email address) and password you provided during the registration process
  • Click the“Sign In” button
  • Once the email confirmation process is completed, you will see the GO Secure Login – Email Validation screen (see below)
  • At this point, Step 2 is completed and you can close this page. Proceed to “Step 3 – Migrate your application roles”.

Step 3 – Migrate your application roles

  • Navigate to the Go-Access to Go-Secure migration page:
  • You will be prompted to enter your GO-Access User Name and Password. Enter the user name and password that you have been using so far to access your application and click Login.
  • You should see the Go-Access toGO-Secure Migration page (see below). On this page:
  • At the bottom of the page, check if the “GO-Secure Account” input box is populated with your GO-Secure account (i.e. your email address) created in Step 1. If not,please contactthe OnSIS Help Desk by email at , or by phone at 416-212-6366 / Toll Free 1-888-275-5934.
  • Click on the “Migrate” button.
  • Note:If you have multiple application accounts close the browser and repeat the process in Step 3 for each account, using the corresponding GO-Access login information. Make sure that you migrate all your old (GO-Access) accounts under the same new (GO-Secure) account.
  • Upon successful migration, navigate to your application URL. You will login with your new GO-Secure account and will have the same roles as before. If for any reason you cannot access your application(s) or your roles are not correct please contact the OnSIS Help Desk by email at , or by phone at 416-212-6366 / Toll Free 1-888-275-5934.
  • It is advisable to bookmark your application URL for future access. Do not bookmark any of the URLs provided in this document (e.g. GO-Secure or Migration Page URLs).
