This appointment is classified as a “special appointment” under the Bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. Those Bylaws and other University policies that are part of this agreement can be found at Your appointment will start on and terminate on ______provided, however that the University may terminate the appointment prior to that time for any reason by giving you a 30-day written notice at the address on file. Should you for any reason fail to complete the assistantship; your pay and tuition remission will be pro-rated through the last day of your services. Graduate Assistantships are often funded by grants or other similar temporary sources. Should the grant supporting your position become unavailable for any reason, the termination of your employment will coincide with the termination of the grant.

In addition to your stipend, you shall receive all tuition remission (up to twelve (12) hours of graduate credit per semester) and subsidized health insurance authorized by the Board of Regents.

Your assistantship is an average of 20 hours per weekand shall include the following assigned duties:

Other duties related to your appointment may be assigned in the course of your employment. Your supervisor shall set your specific hours of employment in such a way that corresponds to your FTE and your other academic obligations. Graduate Assistants do not accrue sick or vacation time.
