Position Title:Youth Settlement Support Worker
Hours:Part Time: 38Hrs per week

Background
The Migrant Resource Centre North West Region (MRCNW) was established in July 1989, it is a community based, non-profit organisation with a 27 year history in providing services to migrants and refugees. It provides services from its offices in St Albans and Hume and also undertakes outreach services from Laverton. The organisation has three primary service areas, Settlement services, and Aged & Disability Services as well as Community projects.
Job summary
The position is part of the Settlement Grant Program (SGP) team based at the Migrant Resource Centre North West. The role will be responsible for providing casework and support services to newly arrived refugee & humanitarian young people 16 to 24 years of ageand to assist them to overcome the challenges of settlement in Australia.
Matching Indicators
The candidate should possess relevanttertiary qualifications in Youth, Social work or any Community Development or Welfare related fields, experience in the SGP Program and understanding of the role which is undertaken by government agencies and other community organizations within this broader context.
Working as a part of a professional team, the position will work closely with youth to deliver and evaluate youth programs for newly arrived refugee & humanitarianyoung people ranging from 15-24 years of age and be responsible for the coordination and delivery of youth events, programs and activities that increase young people’s skills, resilience and participation in the community.
Employment Details / Salary & Conditions
Employment is fulltime. The successful applicant will have a 3 month trial period. A salary package will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
