Passing this course is a requirement for high school graduation. Students must pass three high school math courses. Integrated Math III is the last of these three. Parental support is essential to ensure that the students pass the course.

Students will have access to computer laptops, calculators and other suppliesduring class and are expected to use them appropriately. Students will be responsible for damages they cause to any school resources. Students must maintain a well-organized notebook of 3-whole punched lined paper for daily notes and assignments done neatly and carefully.

Grades:Summative Assessments (Unit Tests): 70%;

Formative Assessments (Assignments,Quizzes, Projects): 30%

A: 90 and above, B: 80-89, C: 70-79, D: 60-69 F: below 60. A grade of D will earn graduation credit, but not eligibility for admission to the California University system. I will post and maintain grades through Powerschool with students and parents having ongoing access.

Assignments: Daily assignments include classwork, homework and other activities.

Tutoring: Students are required to attend tutoring if they have failed a quiz or test, have failed to do homework, or otherwise have a failing average. Tutoring will be available daily during lunchtime in the classroom, or after school in the library.

Behavior: Students are expected to follow school rules and common norms of respect and courtesy. Our culture will be one of collaborative, cooperative and conscientious learning. Consequences of inappropriate behavior will include warning, parent contact, detention or office referrals. Citizenship also is affected by behavior, tardiness and absences.

Teaching Philosophy: The student’s own engagement and attention are the most important factors to success in this (and any) class. I pledge to treat all students and parents with respect. I welcome working with parents to resolve any issues impeding student success. I also strive to set up a classroom and course environment that is fulfilling to students and supports achievement of each student’s full potential. Feel free to call, text or email me with any concerns or suggestions. It takes a village!
