Dear Colleagues:
Welcome back to another school year! The Middlesex County School Counselor Association (MCSCA) works to provide networking and professional development experiences for all levels of school counselors. We try to host events at various venues to meet the needs of all of our members. Please consider attending one of our events throughout the school year.
Last year, the MCSCA and the Middlesex County Guidance Council were able to award $7,000 worth of scholarship money to your students in the county. This outstanding accomplishment is due to the collection of dues from our members. As a member of MCSCA, your students will be eligible to apply for this wonderful scholarship opportunity. You are also eligible to be nominated for the Counselor of the County award.
You can sign up for MCSCA by either visiting our website at www.middlesexcountysca.com or by mailing your completed membership application to Cheryll Willis, Treasurer of MCSCA, East Brunswick High School, 380 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. This organization is open to any school counselor (current or retired) in the county with dues of $30. Please share this information with the new counselors in your district and encourage them to join this wonderful group of professionals. We also allow graduate students to join us. Their dues are at a reduced rate of $15, and they must also complete an application as an intern.
I am excited that we already have new sponsors scheduled for this school year. We will be also reinstating our 50/50 raffle in order to raise more scholarship money. It is my goal to have every school district in Middlesex County to be represented at our meetings. I wish you a successful school year and I know you all strive to make a difference in your student’s lives.
Sincerely,
Laura Laubach
