All credits on IDP must be completed with a grade of C- or better[MH14]. See Academic Advisement Report (AAR) & advisor for other Boise State requirements.
Any changes to 21 upper division credits require submission of revised IDP and must be approved by advisor[MH15] prior to taking the courses.

[MH1]Your student ID number is located in a number of locations - on your Student ID Card and in your my.boisestate.eduStudent Center (on the first page of the PDF view of your advisement report).

[MH2]Update this date with every revision you submit.

[MH3]Your catalog year can be found in your my.boisestate.eduStudent Center, on the PDF view of your advisement report. If your catalog year looks odd or lists a program on your advisement report as ineligible, contact your advisor for assistance completing a catalog year update form.

[MH4]You should be in the online track if you need any of the following: all online courses, out of state tuition waived, 12 or less credits per semester, just the approved MDS online courses (includes LEAD, BUSBTC, etc.) and the online degree pathway courses to finish your degree.

[MH5]This should match the semester that you are taking or have passed MDS 300.

[MH6]While not required, often times minors or certificates can be easily added into your degree plan. Are you interested in adding a specific minor or certificate? Be sure to check that you have declared it. If you haven’t, you can do so through the major change tool on my.boisestate.edu. Caution – not all minors or certificates are offered fully online! The minors or certificates that you choose should line up with your MDS requirements or with requirements that you have previously met. A handy tool for exploring minor and certificates is that What If Report.

[MH7]Unsure what your graduation date will be? Review your remaining requirements and map out the number of credits by semester. This date should match when you plan to take your capstone/your final semester. Caution – the expected graduation date listed on the PDF version of your advisement report is typically not accurate!

[MH8]Credits listed on this IDP worksheet should selected from the MDS online track courses. If you choose to include an internship (MDS 493), remember that it has a limit of 6 credits total.

[MH9]Prerequisites, course titles, and number of credits for each course can be found in the course descriptions listed in the course catalog.

[MH10]Here’s how to read a course description.

[MH11]Pay close attention to pre-requisites, these tell you what courses or requirements you need to meet before or during the time that you plan to take a specific course. Pre-requisites can also be found in the course descriptions listed in the Boise State course catalog. Pre-requisites may also affect the order in which you can schedule your courses. If you select a course without a pre-requisite be sure to write “N/A.”

[MH12]Should always total at minimum 21 credits. Occasionally you may find the total comes out to 22 or 23, since you shouldn’t be including partial credits in a single course. Remember too: this applies even if you have gotten advisor approval to list previously taken upper-division courses on this IDP worksheet via petition. Petitions are limited to 3-9 credits.

[MH13]Be cautious of these credit limitations!

[MH14]If you end up earning less than a C- in one of your justified courses, reach out to your advisor to determine if you should repeat the course and to talk about how to make revisions to your IDP.
