ADDITIONAL NOTES
1.If Chem 111 is taken, it must be taken concurrently with Chem 110. Honors sections are available.
2.You need a cumulative total of 18 Honors credits after four semesters; it is preferred that you:
- complete at least three (3) Honors courses during your freshmen academic year for a minimum of nine (9) Honors credits. This includes Engl 137H.
- complete at least three (3) Honors courses during your sophomore academic year for a minimum of nine (9) Honors credits.
3.At least 14 Honors or 500-level (graduate) credits must be taken over the junior and senior years (combined). No more than 6 credits may be used for thesis research and writing.
4.Students may complete more than one independent study project.
5.Honors sections may be available for these courses.
6.Honors options can be negotiated for all Meteorology classes. Both the professor and the student’s Honors adviser should be consulted. An optimal Honors option experience will include planned regular meetings throughout the semester between the faculty member and the student to review, discuss, and revise, as needed, the Honors components of the course.
7.Students should consider a minor or special topic focus early in their degree.
Recommended freshman Gen Ed classes may then be replaced by needed prerequisites.
8.Meteo 480M is an undergraduate Honors thesis course.
9.Engl 418 (Advanced Technical Writing and Editing) can be substituted for any GS, GA, or GH course.
**Schreyer Honor College’s GPA Requirements:
Students admitted to the SHC Fall 2009 or after must maintain a semester GPA of at least 3.40 and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.40. (Students admitted to SHC prior to Fall 2009 must maintain semester and cumulative GPAs of at least 3.33.)
