Students need to wear their ID’s upon entering the building and leaving the building. Detentions will be given.
STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Letter jacket orders will be taken Monday, February 9th at lunch. Get sized and bring payment in full that day to order. See your coach to get a order packet. Call 601-362-6990 for questions.
2. First Priority will meet in Room W109 every Wednesday morning at 7:50 am. This is an interdenominational group. Everyone is WELCOME!
3. Science and Math Team Reminder: Turn in your permission form to Mrs. Smith or Coach Marett
4. NHS Members: All members are required to attend our monthly meeting Wed Jan 28at 8:25 ( 1st half of homeroom) in the auditorium.
5. There will be a Youth in Government meeting for any members who plan to attend Model UN on Wednesday, January 28 in Mr. Osborn's room. This meeting will be held during the 2nd half of homeroom and is mandatory if you want to attend the conference. Mr. Osborn will also begin taking registration fees if you are ready to pay them. The registration fee is $85. If you cannot attend the meeting for any reason but plan to attend Model UN, you should see Mr. Osborn sometime during the day on Wednesday.
6. CHS is embarking upon the Pennies for Patients project to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Students please see your homeroom teachers for information on how your class can raise the most money for such a worthy cause. Students involved in clubs and organizations, talk with your sponsor to make sure your involvement helps raise the most money for cancer patients. The fundraiser will run through February 13, 2015. So let's go ARROWS and meet our goal of $300!!!! If you need additional information please see Mrs. Scott
7. ANCHOR CLUB: We will be participating in the "Pennies for Patients" project and competing against other clubs to see who can raise the most money. See Mrs. Berry to donate!
8. ANCHOR CLUB: Stop by Mrs. Berry's room to pick up a list of service opportunities for the spring. Also, a list of each student's service credits are posted. Remember that you must have 3 credits by the end of the year.
9. Mr. Chapman has forms for students to fill out and bring back to purchase a yearbook which are on sale for $70.00. They can either turn their money and form in to me or go online and purchase a yearbook at www.yearbookordercenter.com. All information can be found on my School Wires account under “The Arrow.”
10. Any Girls in grades 4th-11th who want to learn how to play volleyball, please come to our volleyball camp onSaturday, Feb. 21 from 1:00-5:00 pm. You can pick up a form in the office at your school or in Coach Denson's room. The deadline to sign up for camp isTuesday, Feb. 17. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Jana Carter .

SENIORS
Seniors: If you would like to leave some words that have influenced you for future generations to read, now is your chance. To submit a Senior Quote, fill out a form and give your $5 to Mr. Chapman or a yearbook staff member. Forms can be found in the commons during lunch. If you have any questions, see Mr. Chapman in W-107.
GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Scholarship packets are available in the Counselor's office for seniors. Each packet contains several scholarships.
ASVB scores are in! Pick them up from Mrs. Morgan either 1st period or during lunch.
If you have applied to the University of Southern Mississippi many of their scholarship deadlines are February 1st and several other important admissions deadlines are in February and March. Make sure you get your information in ASAP!
2015 Mentor Scholarship Program application is in the career center in the counselor's office. This scholarship program is a maximum $16,000 total grant, payable at up to $4,000 per year for four years. Pick up a flyer in the office to learn about the applicant eligibility requirements.
We are excited to announce the fourth annualEagle Experience at the Raymond campus of Hinds Community College. Eagle Experience is for High School Seniors interested in exploring all that Hinds has to offer. It will be great time for students to learn about college admissions, scholarships, financial aid, majors, residence halls, and student life. Seniors will also be able to take a tour of campus, enjoy food and prizes, and visit with instructors from all six Hinds locations. Register online twww.hindscc.edu/eagleexperience.

Delta State University will be coming to our campus on Thursday for a private visit. If you are interesting in learning more information about their school please come sign up in the counselor's office.
Tougaloo College will host the SLAM (Science, Language Arts, and Mathematics) Program for high school students. The SLAM program's goal is to help minority students have the necessary backgrounds to pursue health careers. Any sophomore or junior that is interested in this summer program can pick up an application packet in the Counselor's office. The deadline is March 27, 2015.
The James Doyle Case Memorial Scholarship Award will be rewarding 2 scholarships of $6,000 each to a student who is legally blind or the child of an individual who is legally blind. For more information about this scholarship, pick up a flyer in the career center in the counselor's office.
