STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENT

  2. Students interested in the 2015 Europe trip with Mr. Beasley and Mr. Osborn areadvised that the original program price with discount has been extended until February 28th. You still have time to lock in the original program price. Register today! We will possibly be opening registration up to incoming sophomores from Sumner Hill so reserve your spot on this trip as soon as possible. See Mr. Beasley or Mr. Osborn if you have additional questions concerning the trip.
  3. ANCHOR CLUB: Sign up to play BINGO onTuesday, Feb. 25 at 6:00pmat Clinton Group Home, a residential facility for developmentally challenged adults. You may also BRING items as a service project. Sign up outside Mrs. Berry's door. "Bring" items are due byTuesday.
  4. Cheer Tryouts: Sign ups for CHS cheer tryouts will begin today and last until Wednesday, Feb. 26at 3:45 pm. Those who are interested need to pick up an informational letter and permission slip from the front office. Both must be signed and returned to the CHS office by the deadline.
    The mandatory meeting for all candidates for all schools who have turned in permission slips and meet MHSAA eligibility will be on Thursday, March 6, at6 p.m.in the CHS auditorium. If the parent and candidate do not attend this meeting, the candidate is no longer eligible to try out for cheerleader.
    The instructor clinic to teach cheer and dance will be onTuesday, April 1. Subsequent practice clinics will be onThursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4.

  10. CPE - Career Pathway Experienceis coming back for the 2014-2015 school year. UpcomingJuniors and Seniorsare eligible to enroll. CPE is a business based curriculum including topics such as human relations, communication, banking and finance, business etiquette, taxation, employability skills, college and career exploration. AND Students will work in an approved work site for for 540 hours during the school year and will bepaid! Must have your own transportation! Sign up if you are interested.
  11. The Career Complex is excited to offer a new course next year -Engineering! Up coming Juniors are eligible to enroll. The class will provide hands-on experiences related to the application of engineering concepts in the workplace. If you are considering a major and career in engineering, this class will acquaint you with the engineering field and prepare you for your college classes in the engineering curriculum.

IDA Hope Thornton Scholarship

The scholarship grant for 2014 is $1,000 for a student planning to attend a college or university in the state of Mississippi. Applications are limited to those planning to major in English, Journalism, or Agriculture. Please pick up applications in the guidance department.

Central Mississippi Ole Miss Rebel Club is awarding $1,000.00 scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible for this scholarship you must be on track to graduate with a "B" average and must have scored between 21 and 28 on the ACT. Please pick up an application in the guidance department. Applications are due March 14, 2014.

Hinds Community College Raymond campus Art Department provides an opportunity for art students to receive financial assistance based primarily on artistic merit. The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson announces the 2014 Aura Neely-Gary Memorial Scholarship available to college students for the 2014-2015 school year.The fund awards one or more scholarships annually (depending upon the number of deserving applicants) in the amount of $2,000 based on merit and need to a male or female student planning to enter a college or university in Mississippi. Preference will be given to students who desire to resume their education following a period of personal difficulties. The Arts Council will be awarding one scholarship to a student displaying advanced artistic talent. Sigma Nu Fraternity here at Mississippi State University is are offering one $500 scholarship to one high school senior male attending Mississippi State in the fall of 2013.
